They should. But unless they end up in the playoff they won't. As they are not in the G5 they have no path to the G5 New Year's day spot.

It will be interesting to see what happens in November and December. BYU has 3 open dates late in the season. Any Pac 12, Big 10 or Big 12 school with a sudden opening in the schedule because of an opponent's Covid issues is going to be pressured to play them.

Ducking them means having to justify to the selection committee why your league deserves a bid over BYU when one of your schools could have played them but would not.

BYU only has one open date left if it gets its postponed (not canceled) Army game rescheduled as it already added games at Boise State (11/7) and home vs San Diego State (12/12).
