Arkansas leading Ole Miss 10-0 in the 2nd quarter. In a weird year, they may have one of the best D’s in the SEC West.
I hope Mike Leach enjoyed the limelight after week 1. How Costello set the single game SEC passing record is a real head scratcher.
Arkansas up 20-0 at half. Better QB play and they could be up even more.
Have never been a Hogs' fan, but I am glad to see them get off the mat. Would be thrilled to see them whip the tiggers!
Joel Klatt has BYU 10th in his latest Top 10 rankings. Many CFB, of the P5s of course, are crying foul saying BYU no way belongs in the Top 10..."they haven't played anybody, let alone beaten anybody."
Not sure who is crying foul, but BYU has beaten 5 Group of 5 teams with a combined record of 13-9, with 5 of thoses loses coming to BYU. So that's not too shabby. BYU usually plays 4-5 Power 5 schools per season, but covid ruined that this year. They must be referring to the fact that we are the only one of those schools who has a win against a team with a winning record. Still pretty early to be worrying about rankings, lots of football left.
Who is crying foul? Well, fans of the SEC and Big 10 and PAC 12 types. They don't give BYU any credit at all...none. Not too dissimilar to the grief UCF got a few years back...even a couple of P5 wins were dismissed owing to those teams having horrible seasons, according to the naysayers. Then UCF gets a ranked, and very good Auburn team in a bowl...oh, Auburn will tear 'em up, teach them a lesson they boasted. Only, they didn't, and after the UCF win the excuse-mongers appeared, well, Auburn didn't really care about that game, blah, blah, blah.
Not surprised BYU is not getting credit from the snobby P5 fan morons. Even BYU beating a ranked P5 will be dismissed.
I was thinking a coach or AD made a comment, which is way too early for those comments. Yeah BYU will catch grief due to their scheduling issues this season, no doubt. It would have been interesting to see BYU play their original schedule which included: Utah, Miichigan State, Arizona State, Minnesota, Missouri and Stanford. They also still had San Diego State and Boise State. Now go undefeated against that schedule, you get no complaints. Problem is they usually play a schedule like that each year and have lost on average over 5 games a year during the last decade. It is too bad covid had to happen when they appear to have their best team in a long time.
