I'm of the opinion it doesn't really matter who starts at LT, RT, QB, RB, or WR because Holtz is the problem. Look at our offense the last 4 years, numerous OL, WRs and QBs but it all looks exactly the same-BAD. Even last year we won 10 games but the offense was a struggle and has been for 4 years no matter who is playing where.Originally Posted by DallasDog

If Holtz couldn’t beat good teams and win the conference with the likes of Sokol, Driskel, Higgins and to a lesser but still barely competent degree JMar and all the other contributing upper echelon players we’ve had then he sure isn’t going to do it with Allen or Anthony. That is my point, Holtz is the root of all. He is the reason the scheme sucks, he is the reason that we have seen a consistent decrease in the talent level at the QB position and lack of development as well. Some of our assistant coaches have been able to recruit some really talented kids over the last few years, and even with some amazing individual achievements, and luckily more wins than losses overall this program has underachieved for almost all of Holtz tenure. We should have roughly 4 CUSA titles in the time he has been here, with the talent we have had. The only constant has been Holtz, and he is the one thing that has hindered any upward progress.
We needed someone to stabilize the program to where there was consistency. We needed to get off the one good year then two average to bad rollercoaster. He did that but then he is happy to be a 7-5 coach in a bad league, which leads to all of the above.
This is the type of game we should lose handily but will be in it late......and then our hearts will be ripped again
It’d be on brand to win-out and having last week’s loss cost us the division title.

I'm into moral victories at this point. Losing a close one fills the bill. And, it's all about expectations. If you set them really low, you won't be disappointed.

Saving all of my nothings for tomorrow anyway.
I watched the TV version of the Bulldogs’ radio show with Teddy & Skippy last night and I didn’t enjoy what I saw. The point being that I got to see Holtz’s various facial expressions while he spoke. Oddly enough I thought he commented on many of the criticisms shared here. Unfortunately though instead of seeing a certain determined seriousness in the way he answered it was more grinning and making lite of things than anything else.
Bottom line is that Holtz is all about slip and slide excuses rather than seriously admitting that he’s out of his league getting the job done.
One other beyond belief extremely sad part was from the ‘so-called’ special teams coach who essentially answered the question about our punter getting better that if they knew what to do, they’d have done it already. WHAT!? Are you kidding me... do something different.
Holtz, do something different!
Skippy answered it on the Monday night show by going to his default position when something he calls doesn't work--blame the player.
He said that several times the screen was covered which it obviously was. Skippy said those plays should have been checked down to a handoff instead of being thrown.
I wonder how many times in practice that play has been checked down all year before this week. I'm setting the over/under at 2, and I'm taking the under.
