I believe both the UNT game and the FIU game are fake postponements. Both of teams are reeling and they don't want another loss.

Whoa! that is quite an accusation. Flies in the face of competitiveness, the natural desire of athletes to get out there and compete. That applies to coaches as well. Most (probably all) are competitive by nature. Just let us play!

    It's also pure speculation.

Doesn't sound like teams trying to duck a loss, just avoid the China virus and/or not have FOUR straight road games. UTEP is gonna win this game, no matter where it is played.

Not to mention all the schools who by this logic should be cancelling games, but are still playing (like USM) or who are having good starts but cancelling games that they'd probably expect to win or would be toss-ups at worst.

It just doesn't follow past fun (but baseless) speculation. Some teams have cancelled that would likely have lost. But some have cancelled when they likely would have won. Or had the usual odds. Some have been road games, others have been home games. Many have been rescheduled (but some can't). Some have been rescheduled/cancelled due to the schools making the call, but others seemingly would have preferred to play but the conference rules shut them down (or state or local rules).

Occam's razor tells me it's just 2020 and COVID.

You know that. I know that. And I highly suspect that UNT Coach Seth Littrell knows that. That's why they won't travel to El Paso to play the game. There's literally not one single case of COVID on his UNT team or UTEP's. Incidentally, it's UTEP that doesn't want 4 straight road games, and I don't blame 'em. It's UNT that's ducking 'em.

The list of schools doing this is a mile long. Here's just one example. Charlotte lost a very close game to Appy State in Week 1 to open their season. In the process, Charlotte's star QB1 Chris Reynolds was injured, and later ruled that he had to sit out the next 3 weeks. Almost immediately after this announcement was made, Charlotte cancelled its' upcoming trip to North Carolina in Week 2, and postponed indefinitely their Week 3 game against Georgia State. (A game has not been rescheduled.) The 49ers leadership cited the impact that contact tracing quarantine was having on a key position group. Several members of the offensive line were apparently placed into quarantine following the University's COVID-19 contact tracing protocols, effectively depleting that unit.

However, quite magically, Reynolds healed up and returned to the field of play in Charlotte's Week 4 game against FAU. In that game, Reynolds completed 24 of 32 passes for 314 yds and 1 TD against the Owls. FAU won the game 21-17, but having Reynolds back certainly made it very interesting & competitive.

Without Chris Reynolds, Charlotte knew there was no way the 49ers could be competitive against UNC, or Georgia St either. Consequently, I believe Charlotte's leadership cancelled/postponed those two games early in the season, because they could in this year when there's no penalty for cancelling games. It beat taking two losses, and digging themselves into what would have been an 0-4 start. Now they 49ers are 2-2 instead of 2-4.

One last thing. Charlotte's two wins this season are over UNT (49-21) and UTEP (38-28). Those scores against mutual competition indicate that UTEP has a very good chance of beating UNT when they finally meet. And like said, Seth Littrell knows that.

Not everybody is guilty of this behavior. Your comments falsely assume that every program is being accused of this. But nobody --to my knowledge-- has said everybody was guilty. A guy in your Boy Scout Troop may have grown up to be a bank robber. But that doesn't mean everybody in the former Troop robs banks.

Big game today at 11 am, Cincinnati and Memphis. Cincinnati is ranked 7th in both polls this week. I know it is a long shot, but if Cincinnati wins out it is going to be interesting when the play off rankings come out in late November. I watched Cincinnati finish off SMU last week, after our disaster. SMU and Sonny had no chance. Cincinnati should feel the need to win now as Fickell will be on everyone's short list. Wouldn't be shocked if he leaves for the NFL or P5 soon.

Boston College does an excellent fake FG to draw Clemson offside for the first down, follows it with a circus TD pass.

BC 28- 13 Clemson going into halftime.
