Apparently Lawrence has to pass some type of heart test before he can play,

I imagine Notre Dame will be receiving a hefty fine from the ACC for that reckless demonstration.

I didn't hear that. I only watched the second half and the two overtimes.

Guess it depends on when you think the decade started, if it started on Jan. 1, 2020, it was no doubt the game of the young decade. The back-up QB is also the number 1 QB in his class, He would start at about 110-120 schools right now.

Sadly you are probably right, but everyone made their own decisions and decided it was worth the risk. Not really much more danger than sitting in the stands.

    Meanwhile...

Cincy and BYU are positioning themselves for a shot at the CFP...not that I think it'll happen. Loving what Liberty and Coastal Carolina are doing. No matter how their seasons end up, they are doing themselves proud right now. Coastal plays both Appy State and Liberty this year (virus permitting).

Bama and Florida are on a collision course for the SEC title. Bama will win that. How good is aTm? Better than they have been in recent years. How bad is LSU? Who cares!? Just hope they keep it up. Happy for Arkansas, they have gotten off the mat. They have THREE SEC wins so far, whoa!

And finally...that sleeping giant, the mighty Chickenhawks. Now at 0-8 and have not had a lead for even one second this year. Of course, they are saving it all up for their Super Bowl coming up...

CUSA should be called the "COVID Conference".

CUSA seems to be more negatively impacted by COVID than any other conference this season. Of the 47 FBS football games cancelled or postponed in 2020 due to COVID concerns, CUSA teams were involved in 19 of them. That's over 40% of the total cancellations and postponements. AAC teams have been involved in 12 or 25.5% of the cancellations/postponements in 2020, and the Sunbelt was involved in 8, or 17%.

These stats seem to support my theory that some CUSA teams are guilty of using COVID as a "scheduling strategy" in 2020, and not necessarily always cancelling games each week for health reasons.

Oh....and these stats don't even include the 11 or 12 games that ODU cancelled right out of the gate when the Monarchs declared their entire football season over before it started. These stats also only include 3 Rice games rescheduled against Marshall, UAB and Houston. These stats also do NOT include Rice's early season cancellations against Army, LSU & Lamar off of Rice's original 2020 schedule.

    https://www.cbssports.com/college-fo...e-to-covid-19/

CUSA is still cancelling and postponing games almost every week (including several this past week). Meanwhile, there were some pretty large crowds at some of the games I watched yesterday (KSU?). And yes, at the end of the Notre Dame game, at least 20K students & fans rushed the field like old times, and were all over each other.

You are probably correct about Cincy and BYU not making the play-off, but if Cincy wins out an argument can be made, they should be in it. No G5 team has been ranked as high as they are at this late a point in the season. If they finish undefeated, they will have beaten at least five teams that have been in the top 25 at some point during the season. Currently the teams they have beaten have a record of 20-13 for a winning percentage of .606. Take out the six loses to Cincy and those teams are 20-7 with a .741 winning percentage. That is fantastic! They need A&M to lose again, Georgia is out, Florida is likely to lose again. That leaves Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Ohio State.

If Notre Dame can beat Clemson again, Clemson is out. Or if Clemson loses any other game they are out.

Notre Dame has three more games against teams with winning records. Lose one of those and a Clemson rematch and they are out.
Ohio State and Alabama look very solid to make the playoffs. I know it is a long shot, but this has been a crazy season so far.

IMO BYU is longer shot. Their schedule is not very good. It is a shame this is their best team in recent memory. They usually play the toughest schedule outside of the P5, but not this year. Thus far their opponents record is 22-32 for a .407 winning percentage. Take out the 8 BYU wins and it is still only 22-24. They need the teams they have played to win a bunch of games to ppunch up their resume. Hopefully Tech helps them out.

It has been a crazy season so who knows what is possible. This is the G5’s best chance to bust the playoffs, at least until it is expanded to 6 or 8, if it ever is. Whatever happens it should be fun to watch.

Cincinnati wins, but A&M and Florida passes them. Such is life as a G5 team.

BYU or Clemson over the Loser Little 10’s Ohio State imho. They’ve only played 3 games! Give me a break!

Florida QB Kyle Trask is amazing. He's got my vote for the Heisman Trophy unless someone else steps up this year.

Ah yes! the good ole Hypesman! The meaningless popularity contest reserved ONLY for a few elite schools.

Ah yeah.......but I don't care about that. I care about performance. And Trask is getting it done. He's already passed for 22 TD's and only 3 INT's in only 5 games.

All SEC games too. No G5 or FCS. If they had played LSU, it’d be even more!
