Go woke, go broke! Disney is having to layoff 7,000 employees to make ends meet. But, while Disney has shot itself in the foot with stupid wokeness, the problems for them run deeper, just like the rest of the economy. Reality is starting to rear its ugly head and the Biden economy, with its, ahem, recession-like anemic "growth" is beginning to creep in and all the neat coverups, and short-term "fixes" are nothing but sticking bubblegum into a hole in the dike. The RECESSION is looming and once the facade is dropped, Bam!

The GDP is hovering in obummer range, very, very weak growth...saw a report that the trailing 3 months is at a whopping 0.4% "growth." Have to put growth in quotes because while it may technically be a positive number, it's just a nudge over the cliff to a recession.

The market is being stubborn and keeps building in all this pending bad economic news, having a red day, followed by a green day. Can't keep doing this. The chickens are coming home...

Well Disney is tonedeaf, because we looked into taking my granddaughter over spring break to Orlando for 4 days as a "do-over" for a 3 day trip we took in 2021 when things were opening back up, but Disney required masks everywhere, even outdoors, No parades, no fireworks, no character meet and greets, no character dining, no shows. The cost for us to go was basically $1000 / day for the 3 of us, and that did not include food. That was just lodging and park tickets. We took a hard pass...

Tis a shame what has happened to Disney; bet Walt is rolling over in his grave.

First visited WD World in 1982 and was bitten by the “magic” that used to be Disney. Over the years returned no less than 20 times, sometimes with family but mostly on business trips, got in free and actually made money as a contractor. We still took time to enjoy the parks.

Last went in late 2021 with one grandchild and now only our 5 year old grandson has not ever been. We want to take him at least once.

    Not what it was once.

PS Also visited Disneyland in California once.

March job numbers are okay. Announced unemployment rate is 3.5%.

The job participation rate is reported at 62.6%. Congrats to Sleepy Joe as this is his high-water mark in this stat. It needs to be pointed out that Trump's worst month in his 4 years was a participation rate of 63.3% and that was caused by the lockdowns during the China Virus mess.

Will the Fed hold off on their next anticipated rate hike? It's supposed to be another 25 basis points.

On a side note, CNBC replayed their special on the 2008 mortgage/banking crisis. I bristle every time I see a report on that time period with the likes of Barney Frank interviewed on those "evil" banks. He and his democrap ilk created the crisis with legislation and threats between 2002 and 2004. And! remember all the barbs sent at President Bush and his team of Paulson, Bernanke, Geithner, with the TARP, seen as a bailout of the rich, "bad" bankers, all "friends of George Bush." The bill paid by taxpayers was $624 billion. Since that time the US Treasury has been paid back $714 billion by those same banks (interest attached to the loans). That small point is conveniently left out of all the rantings from the ignorant Left.

LOL! the Biden admin condemns the violence in Sudan stating "foreign elements" have crossed the border into Sudan to aid one side in the conflict, and pointed out how awful it is that a food market in one region was completely destroyed, 10 relief trucks hijacked...and not a word about what is going on here. Saw a video with a side-by-side split screen of the mess on our southern border, as WH spokesman condemned the border crossings in Sudan, and a video of a bunch of thugs destroying a store in San Francisco as the WH expressed disgust with the food market being destroyed in Sudan. Says it all.

    Re: President Biden

Biden has announced his bid for re-election, er, election for the first time, since he didn't win the 2020 election. The most interesting thing will be will the DNC, and dem powers-that-be try, to derail his candidacy in favor of a chosen candidate? If so, it should become readily obvious fairly soon.

Meanwhile, Biden's statement was "let's finish the job," which he means is the total destruction of America and the free world. In June Xi will be the keynote speaker at a conference in South Africa, to be joined by at least 20 other nations, to discuss replacing the US dollar as the world's reserve currency and to form an anti-American alliance designed to eliminate the US's world hegemony. In just two short years Biden has completely flipped the world from a clear US-dominant one to a Chicom superpower status, taking with them some former US allies.

All of you azzholes, all you anti-Trump morons have caused this. I don't give a rat's azz about anything bad that will happen to you, but you have put people I care about at great risk.

    Re: President Biden

16,000 Americans abandoned in Sudan by Sleepy Joe. Some happy idiot on ABC News quickly chimed in with, "that's only an estimate, may not be that many," after one of his colleagues reported the number. Their instinct, knee-jerk reaction, is to cover for Biden. Actually, other sources have placed the number as high as 19,000. But the exact total is irrelevant. This is yet another foreign policy failure by Biden, and once again, for the FOURTH time, according to a congressman from Florida, that Biden has caused a US embassy to be attacked and over-run. I admit, I was not aware of two of those.

The State Department issued a statement to Americans in Sudan last week to shelter in place. Meanwhile, the azzholes evacuated the embassy staff and a few family members, then just left the country once all SD employees were safe. To hell with others now cowering in their apartments, cut off. Not that it matters, but for the record, most of the 16,000+ have dual citizenship American/Sudanese and most of those were born in Sudan.

This is Afghanistan all over again. And, I am not familiar with the other two incidents. I will look it up.

Oh, and this, Uganda has passed tough anti-LGBTQXYZA++ laws that make homosexuality illegal. This is something like the 5th African nation to do so. How do the Chicoms feel about the gay scene? Wondering because the Chicoms are taking over Africa, and maybe they despise gays too. Of course, the lezzy split tail WH spokesperson thingy was so very sad and condemned Uganda for this. The Biden admin is talking about cutting off aid to those African nations. Yo, Sleepy Joe, they don't want/need the soon-to-be worthless US dollar, they are getting Chicom aid.

Who the hell voted for this azz-clown?

Oh, the other two are Russia and Ukraine, although the US has recently reopened the one in Ukraine. I didn't put those in the same category as Afghan and Sudan.

And this news. The Taliban has hunted down and killed the mastermind of the Kabul airport suicide bombing that killed 13 American soldiers and 170 Afghan citizens (and wounded hundreds more). The culprit is (was!) an ISIS regional leader operating in southern Afghanistan. The Taliban and ISIS aren't getting along, apparently.

Economy continues to slog along, or is it? Back to this shortly.

The GDP was a whopping 1.1% in Q1 after an even sluggish Q4 2022, at 1%. Ya know, this is exactly like obummer's anemic economy did, bumping along at 1-1.5% most quarters, and for 8 years, 32 quarters, the country managed to avoid slipping into an actual recession. And now, strangely, Biden's economy is doing the same thing. Curious.

Well, is it? I think the fix is in and someone is cooking the books just enough to protect Biden, like they did obummer, from having a recession. You might think I am just being paranoid but come on! look who we are talking about. I do think the economy has had numerous negative quarters, just like actually occurred under obummer, and we are being lied to...again.
