    Middle East

Unrest in Iran! Protestors in the streets of Tehran, spurred by the murder of a young woman by the Islamic terrorist "morality police." The woman was arrested, beaten, and then died while in the custody of moooooooooslim police for not wearing a scarf on her head.

But, the Bidenites want to make sure the Persians have nukes! Great policy there, Sleepy Joe

Sounds similar to the January 6th "detainees".

Of course the truth police (disinformation board) will tell you differently.

And you have people complaining about the way gays, trans, and women are treated in the US. You are welcome. Or you are welcome to go to one of these countries and try to survive for 2 days.

    Re: Middle East

The Taliban is about to invade Iran! They have already completely destroyed 18 Iranian (Persian) outposts on the border with Afghanistan. There are also Afghan Taliban involved, one commander was shouting on a video as a "castle" went up like a giant firecracker. It was an Iranian border posts, looked like a castle. Gone now. Anyway, the Taliban commander said, "Iranian army is feminine, very feminine. And now we have these good American weapons and equipment." Thanks to Biden, eh! Of course, if the Taliban use all our good equipment to kill Persians, well then, good show Joe! It was an accident, but you may have stumbled into doing a good thing. Your first foreign policy success!

There is video of thousands, and I mean thousands! of Taliban soldiers on motorbikes, in trucks, on American military equipment, even on horses all crowding together, AK-47s and M-16s (I guess) being held up and they are cheering. Narrator of the video claims this is part of the Taliban invasion force.

Iran has become Putin's last supply line for drones, spare parts, ammo, and other supplies. Hopefully this will cut that off. Poor ole Putin, can't catch a break.

    Bad news...

Erdogan has been reelected prime minister of Turkey. Another 5 years of his wishy-washy devotion to NATO. He barely won, 52-48%. I suppose he might have benefitted from cheating...nah! that never happens anywhere.

    Re: Middle East

The supposed attack on Iran by the Taliban fizzled into a nothing-burger. They did attack 18 Iranian outposts on the border, but the Iranian soldiers posted there just ran away. Reports say in a brief gunfight, 2 Iranians, 1 Taliban were killed, with several wounded from both sides. The real issue is a dam being built by the Taliban just inside the Afghan border. It will divert much-needed water away from a region of Iran, to which the Iranians are not happy.

The Persians should not take this lying down. Go to war with the Taliban...y'all kill each other!

    Re: Middle East

Taliban has moved heavy equipment, including tanks and rocket-armed HUMVEES, and some other Biden gifts to them, to the Iranian border. A high-tanking Taliban general is now on the ground at the border. The Taliban say they are there to defend against Persian attacks against the dam which has now diverted water away from Iran. One Persian commander at the border says he has requested reinforcements, but thus far Tehran has not responded. Tension is rising.

    Re: Middle East

Intelligence reports say Iran is planning to step up attacks on US troops in Syria, this according to the Washington Post, so FWIW.

The US has boots on the ground in eastern Syria in support of our allies the Kurds. Iran and Russia have been backing Syrian President Assad who has been battling various elements of resistance to his presidency. Most of the other groups, such as Syrian rebels, have either been wiped out or reduced to insignificant numbers. Only the Kurds have stood up to Assad and they have a firm hold on most of eastern Syria. Iran has been fighting a proxy war against the Kurds/US using local militia groups in attacks. But now, according to reports, Iran plans to send in its own troops to fight us and the Kurds. Well, good luck with that. But! seems to me Iran should be more concerned about the Taliban sitting on their border.

    Re: Middle East

Forgotten by the war in Ukraine and practically abandoned by the Biden administration, the Kurds are still valiantly holding the line in Syria and Iraq. Thanks to a French network there are still reports from there. Just watched a video of the Kurds under attack by the Iranian/Russian-backed Syrians of Assad. It included a suicide bomber in a armored pick-up truck packed with explosives. The Kurds are on a ridge behind sandbags and out front is a highway. The highway curves around and traverses through the Kurdish defenses. The suicide bomber is trying to reach the Kurds along the highway and detonate the explosives. There is a US advisor, and others like French military personnel standing together when the truck appears. Shouts are heard "take out that truck!" An anti-tank tow rocket finally does, and the truck explodes in a huge fireball. The truck was weighted down by the heavy armor which had been welded to it, so it was going only about 40mph or so. A rather attractive Kurdish woman, a soldier, smiles toward the camera and says in English, "he was trying to kill us." You could see on her face and hear the angst in her voice the fear. Trying to put on a "happy" face but the reality of the situation is evident.

Bears repeating...the Kurds have been nothing but our staunches and most loyal allies in Iraq and Syria. Yes, true, they are fighting for their very existence and need US/western support for equipment, ammo, supplies. But they have also risked and lost their lives saving the lives of US personnel. We should not turn our backs on the Kurds.

Got my first warning from YouTube about an "inappropriate comment," but they didn't include a reference to the comment that upset them. Could have been several. Might have been my comment on the video where the Defense Minister of Israel promised to send their enemies back to the stone age if Israel is attacked. My comment was:

The Stone Age would represent a giant leap forward for those camel jockeys.

    Think that was it?

    Re: Middle East

Supported by US special forces and US air attacks, the Kurds have captured a town in Syria (forgot the town's name, not that it's important) which has been in dispute for over two years. Here's the thing, and it is unique to Syria right now, it's all the factions fighting each other. For instance, in this fight there were the Kurds/US...Assad's Nationalist Syrians...ISIS...Iranian supported rebels...Iranian supported loyalists to Assad...and the Turks and their proxy forces. No, they weren't all there at the same time in some huge melee....although that would have been interesting....rather the various factions ran into each other and there were a series of separate fights swirling all around the area. This has been going on like this for over two years. In one particular incident the Kurds and Assad's forces fought together against ISIS, and after ISIS was defeated, they turned on each other. Bizarre!

There is a video of a female Kurdish colonel, standing in the town's square, being interviewed by some news agency, and she looks around and says, "look, no one is shooting at me, at us." She adds they are not sure what they will do with the town now that they have it. The town is important to that immediate region, a major highway passes through it, and it does have water and other resources, but in the bigger picture, the whole Syria-Iraq-Turkey conflict, with Iran sticking its nose in there, and ISIS too, it's not all that critical.

We, the US, are heavily involved, mostly supporting the Kurds. I am surprised how much control we have of the sky over eastern Syria, and some of the northern region too along the border with Turkey. A few years ago, Putin tried to interfere but after he suffered losses to his lousy air force, the Russkies withdrew. President Erdogan protested our presence, especially our support of the Kurds, but quietly the Turks have surrendered the sky to us as well. Some kind of deal had to have been made. We don't have many boots on the ground, probably only a few hundred, but they are special forces and communication personnel who call in the air strikes when needed. The Kurds have become a formidable modern army, with our help of course. They do all the fighting, the heavy lifting on the ground, and we support them with our technology and air superiority.

Anyway, this is a crazy "civil war" with multiple factions all fighting each other, when they aren't temporarily allied!

And this...The Kurds defeated a group of Druze, who are a Syrian-based tribe with long historic roots. The fighting was brutal, given the casualty reports. The Kurds lost 25 KIA and dozens more wounded, while the Druze suffered 39 killed, many dozens wounded/captured, and more wounded but who escaped when the tribesmen retreated.

The Kurds have also captured Abu Amir, a senior financier of ISIS. He has been the "George Soros" of ISIS since its inception. Already the US State Department is seeking to freeze Amir's bank assets around the world.

Just a matter of time before Iran launches an invasion into Afghanistan to seize the dams on the Helmand River. Water is scarce and getting scarcer and Iran is in a bind. They really have no choice but to do something, and that something will be a military invasion of southwest Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Taliban is not sitting idly by and are building up defenses and moving troops and equipment...oh, looky there! Biden supplied the Taliban the equipment they need...preparing to defend the region. This is one war where we root for high casualties on both sides.

The whole world is a powder keg and lots of morons are running around with lit torches. Will take just one "whoops!"

Hamas terrorists shot rockets into Israel killing 22 civilians. As a result of this, Israel has declared that a state of war now exists. Israeli jets have already struck known Hamas HQ and a base.
