I can attest to this. In my business, if you raise prices to offset the increased variable cost of doing business, clients simply move to a cheaper option. Take out gasoline prices and inflation is still increasing on everything else. And here's the proof. Grocery prices up 1.3% in the last month and up 13.1% from last year.

Once again, the drop in gasoline prices hides the fact that inflation on everything else is increasing. Many experts are still predicting $5 per gallon gasoline with a couple of months. If that happens, inflation across the board will jump to double digits and stay there.
