Zach Harris was a Tech grad with a PhD in Education and was currently a teacher/coach at Quitman HS. He went to Tech on a track/cross country scholarship out of Fountainbleu HS, on the Northshore. His fiance' is Victoria Sharplin, also a Tech grad in physical therapy. They were to be married next Saturday, November 21, 2020.

He asked her to marry him at the Lady of the Mist...

So tragic. A couple of my daughters and their husbands knew Zach and Victoria and were taking about it last night while they were over visiting.

I didn't know Victoria, only met her one time, a couple of years ago. Kept saying, dang! Zach lives so close, need to pop up and do lunch...go to a Tech game with him and Victoria...always thought there'd be plenty of time. His parents, my sister and her husband, or enroute to Natchitoches right now. They have to go home to Madisonville to take care of a few things, then come back for services next week in Ruston.

Always thought there'd be plenty of time.... lessons learned.

So sorry to hear of this. I have a client who also teaches at Quitman and found out of this shortly after the accident when I called my client but had no idea of your relationship with Zach. Always difficult to lose a family member or loved one but especially so when they are young and healthy and on the threshold of the rest of their life. Today will be especially tough for your family but a magnitude greater for Victoria. Praying for all of you throughout the day.
