Funny how most of the really good teams just keep on playing a lot of games, and racking up the wins, no excuses needed.

#1 Alabama - 6-0 (The recent cancellation against LSU was supposedly due to an outbreak of COVID within the LSU program.)
    #2 Notre Dame - 8-0
    #7 Cincinnati - 7-0
    #8 BYU - 8-0
    #15 Coastal Carolina - 7-0
    #16 Marshall - 7-0

    #22 Liberty - 8-0

and then there's the teams who are not undefeated, but have played a lot of games, and are having really good seasons nonetheless:

    Miami, FL - 7-1
    Clemson - 7-1
    ULL - 7-1
    Appy St - 6-1

I could list more teams, but you guys get the picture. The REALLY GOOD football teams are playing football every week. And winning. The bad teams (e.g., LSU) and the teams struggling with wins & losses (e.g., LA Tech), are strategically cancelling and postponing games. That's just a sad fact.

You might be wrong about that. This is not your daddy's Indiana team. The Hoosiers are actually pretty darn good this year. Problem is, most of the Big Ten really sucks this season, so they are hard to measure. We'll find out just how good Indiana is this Saturday when they finally play THE Ohio St.

None of the projections I have seen has Indiana in the play-offs. Not sure if anyone has them in a New Year six bowl. Probably a couple do. Indiana has Ohio State and Wisconsin coming up, those games will tell their worth.

Yep to win you gotta play.

Also disappointed no movement in the Top 11 of the coaches poll this morning. Of course, the only poll that matters start in a few days on the 24th.

We opened as a 13 point favorite against ULM, consensus now at 16. What are the odds the game is played?

Liberty and Coastal Carolina (schedules notwithstanding) being ranked and undefeated ought to have every piddling "aw shucks" barely-good-enough team like Tech taking notes.

Those schools must have much more access to talent. It can't be coaching.

If they beat both Ohio State and Wisconsin and are undefeated...they deserve consideration. And, I hope they do!

But, I expect OSU to donkey-stomp them, though...

I hear they've got 5 star blue chips breaking down the doors to sign with schools that didn't exist when they were freshmen in highschool!

    only explanation

And Jamey Chadwell is coach at Coastal. Both will be mentioned for nearly every job that comes available this year. Think HD was employing some sarcasm, that sly dog.

    That was my point.

Meanwhile the school down in Lafayette is staying in the top 25 while Holtz has never been able to keep us getting votes, much less in the top 25.

....Hey now....Jeff Sagrin has LA Tech ranked 100th this week. That's pretty good for a school that has only been playing FBS football for 31 years, huh? Don't you think 100th is worth celebrating if you are a LA Tech fan?
