Was gonna post "please don't lose to lowly UTSA" like I did on the WBB forum, but after Thursday night's pathetic display I find I really don't care right now.
Do what you want, Dawgs. Miss FTs, miss layups...whatever!
Perry just stole one again for North Texas by hitting a 3 with 2.4 left to beat UAB at Bartow.
North Texas will be the West #1 seed. #2 is up for grabs if Tech can get its act together.
I am starting to believe McCaslan can coach
Tech needs to show some intensity to start the second half. The last 10 minutes of this first half has been a sleepwalk like Thursday night was.
Lofton is regressing. Playing like a freshman and not showing any composure. He isn't the player who played overseas last summer right now.
Always a good night when the walk-on gets some floor time.
C-USA West standings
NT 13-1 vs USM, vs Tech, at UTSA, at UTEP
UAB 10-4 at UTSA, at UTEP, at USM, vs Tech
Tech 10-4 at Rice, at NT, vs ODU, at UAB
UTEP 9-5 at MT (Monday), vs UAB (Saturday), vs Rice, vs NT
Rice 6-8 vs Tech, vs USM, at UTEP, at UTSA
UTSA 2-12
USM 1-12
Lofton 2 of 7 from the FT line. Team was 18/25 for 72%. Take out Lofton and we were 16/18 for 89%.
I like Junior's passing and the assists he's getting. Leads the team in assists in the 14 conference games played. Led the team again tonight with 6. He does force it at times, so needs to be more careful with the ball.
Willis was "man of the match" tonight!
Lofton's play as a passer has been very good when he doesn't force it. He didn't have to force it very much tonight.
But he is getting frustrated even quicker now than he did last year. And that's when he gets demonstrative on every call good or bad.
Showing positive emotion is great for a player like him, but he displays negative emotion way too much like hanging his head running down the floor after missing two FTs in a trip tonight. He has to move on to the next play immediately and forget about the last one.
