Bulldogs Shine on Offense in 91-77 Win

A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:

Made 20 of 25 FTs 80%. Need that kind of FT shooting consistently, all year.

    Just win!

Pomeroy said the other day that league-wide FT (over first 5 days) is higher than its been in many recent seasons. Everyone must have been practicing hard!

With COVID you had to practice by yourself, free throws lends itself to that.

Someone talk some sense into me. Otherwise, I'm starting to get excited about this team.

#180 UTA and #325 NWSt. UTA is a pretty comparable opponent and they were a tough matchup. But I feel like we ought to have maintained a much more comfortable lead for the whole game. lsu is not going to spot us 30 minutes to get warmed up. All that said, I am remaining cautiously optimistic (at least until our late-season/tournament collapse).

UTA did play Okie State pretty close.

I can’t wait to see Loftin play!

Agree, Lofton Jr. did some good work in the paint on the offensive end against NWST. He is quite agile and uses his big body well to keep defenders at bay. I hope he is still growing. Kind of torn about him needing to trim down on weight, but I would expect he has huge upside as his body develops with the college strength and conditioning. He is 8 of 9 on free throws too so far. Let hope he likes it here and stays in the program.

I think I can tell Jr's lost weight since the scrimmage last month. The way he plays and uses his body, I expect losing weight will make him that even more agile and that's saying something. The kid ain't scared of anyone and looks plenty strong to hold his own even if he weighs less.

Really impressive footwork. Best I've seen in a Bulldog uniform in a while. And as a freshman!

This is good to hear. Yesterday was my first chance to see him play. He turned 18yrs old this past August. He may look very different next fall. Somebody put him on the Karl Malone weight training program now.
