The AD at the time was punishing Tech (Tech fans) for not going along with his demands to play nlulm in all sports. This was the last game of the series (I think it had been a two and two over four years). nlulm had a decent team that year and he got CenturyLink to buy up all the tickets so he could give them out to nlulm fans. You could see this brewing for several days ahead of the game based on his comments to the Media about a sellout and standing room only. Many Tech fans were turned away at the gate trying to purchase tickets. Pics inside the stadium showed what a liar and scoundrel the guy really was. It wasn't even 2/3 full.
They are still butt hurt about the "Elite" comment that Dooley made at a booster event.
I was inside. 2/3 is generous.
I was also there. I want to say it was half Tech fans as well. If all the fans that wanted to go in could have gone in, it would have basically been a Tech home game.
NLU is a joke attending games between us.
