One more Bob Uecker quote. The way to catch a knuckleball is to wait until it stops rolling and pick it up.

Sorry to hear this. I was a Braves' fan for many years and really enjoyed watching "Knuckesy" pitch. In 1982, the year the Braves broke thru and won the western division, it came down to the final week, and a three-game series with the Dodgers. Braves were just barely holding on to a 1-game lead. Game 3 of that series, tied 1-1, bottom of the 10th Braves 3 Dodgers 2, two runners on, two outs and Steve Garvey at bat. Full count and Niekro throws two knuckleballs for strikes and each time Garvey barely is able to foul them off. The Braves' catcher, Bruce Benedict, calls time and trots out to talk to Niekro. Niekro throws an old-fashioned, slow, round house curve that catches the corner for a called strike three...Braves win. Garvey, expecting another knuckler, is frozen and just watches the pitch go by. Yes, Phil Niekro pitched all 10 innings that game.
