Tech played some good, tight defense at the end, and they finally took their time to set up smarter shots on offense.

Gordon was the hero of the night as far as I’m concerned. 14 points and 12 rebounds, often when desperately needed. He was a monster under the basket.

He didn't at first. The more correct statement would be, "Gordon showed some good game in the last 5:04 minutes." Gordon only scored 4 points before that. But Gordon scored 10 points in the last 5:04 of the game. Talk about a microwave performance! Wow!

FREE THROWS won this game for LA Tech. The Dawgs finished 24 of 27 for 89% from the free throw line. If the Dawgs shoot 48% or less, they don't win tonight, even with gordon's performance down the stretch. WOW!!!!

UTSA's last points were scored with 4:11 left. Tech outscored UTSA 10-0 in the last 4:11.

Good win and an ugly but fun game to watch.

I've had my concerns about Gordon in the past, but when he is all systems go he is really fun to watch and has skills. He moves well up and down the court when he wants too - especially for a big man. I have been wondering if Lofton getting minutes would motivate him. It seems teams have figured out how to keep Lofton in check. Lofton is a wide and thick body, but he ain't got hops. He is going to have to develop different moves in order to do as well as he was in the first few games.

If gordon were 225-230 and more like Magnum Rolle and we could play he and Lofton together we would be undefeated in conference

You are exactly right! We would be unstoppable inside with both in the game. As for our team, we are VERY streaky! This is the second time we have gone up big, allowed a comeback, and pulled it out in the last few minute of the game. We need that high energy from beginning to end, if we are going to have a chance this year.

Great FT shooting! Coulda been an "L" without it, and probably would have been.

I'm learning that Gordon is a somewhat "moody" player. If you look at post #17 in this thread, I had just complained about Gordon about halfway thru the 2nd half. He wasn't helping us when he could have been. With only 4 points at the time, he was moving very slow down the court --a few times he never even crossed the mid court line before Tech's offensive possession was over. In fact, he scored a cheap basket that way once when Tech got a defensive rebound under the UTSA goal, and threw the ball to Gordon who was still on the other end of the court. Easy slam dunk! LOL!

On one occasion, Gordon also acted like he was hurt --he didn't get down the court with the rest of the team-- but the referees ignored him, didn't call an injury timeout, and so he had to play on anyway.

And then it happened. He actually played real good basketball in the last 5:04 of the game. Amazing turnaround. Especially right under the basket. UTSA couldn't stop him.

LeDoux and Bass out again. No surprise there.

No mention of Lofton, so I guess he will play.

Lofton in. Lyn Rollins says he’s been eating lots of cornbread and sweet milk.

Probably needs to moderate that a bit.

Need some football linemen on that diet.

Out to a 17-3 lead, UTSA can't throw it in the ocean while standing in a dingy. Hopefully the Dawgs don't start taking dumb shots. Run the offense please.
