A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:

After struggling to make perimeter shots in the last few games, Louisiana Tech erupted for a season-high 14 three-pointers in route to an 82-66 victory over UTSA on Saturday night inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.

Way too much taking 3's. Especially early in the shot-clock with a lead. Konkol is a mere spectator, might as well buy a ticket and sit in the stands. Last night the Dawgs shot well from the arc, 14/26 53%, but that's not the norm and besides is not the point. You can always launch a 3 late in the shot clock if you were unable to find a much better shot.

Lofton should shed a few pounds. He's "bigger" than The Bear!

I think everyone knows, including him, that he needs to shed some weight. I think he is our next big star, but does need to shed a few pounds. It is difficult for me to understand how he doesn't with as much of a workout as he gets in practice and in games. It is hard to NOT lose the weight with that type of activity. Anyway, I think that will happen naturally over the course of the year. Being a freshman, he is just amazing to watch!

As coach said in the postgame interview, he liked the looks we were getting. Especially when we got the ball in the paint (and UTSA would double-team), then we’d kick it out for the open 3.

Exactly. Ordinarily, I like to see quick passes and players moving around quickly on offense. But last night, the UTSA coaches had obviously made a decision to "pack the paint" and force Tech to hit 3's to beat 'em. I guess they figured that if UTSA was going to have any kind of chance last night, it would have to be with Jackson & Wallace outgunning Tech from behind the arc. Those are two of the best 3-pt shooters in CUSA history. Jackson rolled up 37 points against us in a game last year.

But offensive basketball is all about getting open looks at the basket. So, last night Tech just took what was given to them by UTSA. And it worked.

Coach probably read that plan on BB&B and BTB. 😊
Nah, that was his plan all along I hope 👌
