14-2 UTEP run stopped by a Pemberton runner plus one.
Tech better strap it up.

73-55 Final. Just 19/31 from the FT line, 61%. Make things harder than they have to be.
Solid game. Crawford in those goggles always reminds me of Eric Dickerson.
It's hard to believe; UTEP scored 55 pts in total tonight, and scored 50 in just the 1st half last night. Go figure. Congrats Dawgs.
I love LeDoux and hope he is back soon. I also hope he will play to his strengths. GREAT spot shooter. Very good defender. Embrace those skill sets.
Both the MBB and WBB lose at least 3-4 games a year due strictly to lousy FT shooting. They also lose games due to lousy FT shooting indirectly, i.e. denying them a "puncher's chance" of pulling one out late. That adds up to about half dozen games every year. Just think about how significant that is. Instead of a "good" year of 22-10, the team might be 28-4. Huge!
Oh, BTW, the great Russo teams of Karl Malone were NOT good FT shooters. It was their one weakness. Generally shot about 62-65% as a team. But! they also shot 62-65% from the floor...lots of slam dunks! Game was different back then too. No 3-point shot and no shot clock. Played awesome team defense and that, more than anything else, is why they were so great.
Best basketball I've ever seen in person. Not only on the defensive end...remember Rennie Bailey was nicknamed "The Secretary of Defense"! But, the offense was such a joy to watch too. Like a well-oiled machine, five moving parts, no one part more important than the others. The inside passing between our "bigs" was awesome...resulting in lots of thunderous dunks!
