    He's a Republican.

    It passed the House. It was never considered by the Senate. Doesn't look like it is in the Consolidated Appropriations Act for 2021 that was eventually passed and made into law. So, it went nowhere. SDRs haven't come up since, though it is creeping up into opinion pieces. Speaking of, it's a little interesting that it looks like Garcia and Waters offered this amendment after the governor of the People's Bank of China put out an opinion piece that said the IMF should use SDRs to respond to COVID.

    We've gone in debt for other countries for about a century (maybe less? maybe more?). It's been good business for us.
