So, does anybody know if we re expecting to sign any more HS recruits with this annual "signing" day approaching? I know we signed 10 or so players during the early signing period in December, but I haven't heard whether or not we have other names on the board that we are pursuing.
I see 1 commit that didn't sign in December. https://247sports.com/college/louisi...tball/Commits/
Still in line for 5* Ruston RB > He's picking b/w us, MS State, Penn State, Baylor & S Carolina.
As expected he went Mississippi State.

So, is this it for LA Tech's 2021 recruiting class? Is there a single player in this recruiting class that our fans can get excited about?
It appears that Tech's coaches have taken the year off. Skip recruited 8 HS players nobody's ever heard of and 3 college transfers with a questionable ability to even play. One, who's only college offer coming out of high school was from ULM, and another who had a serious spinal injury at Tennessee, and he hasn't seen the field since 2018.
There is a 4th "transfer". Thank goodness for Marcus Williams, a backup RB transferring in from Appy St. He appears to have genuine talent, despite never being a starter in 4 yrs at Appy. But, I'm automatically concerned when I see a 4-yr backup at Appy come to Tech and start immediately.
This looks like a very lazy recruiting effort by Skip Holtz and his coaches. According to the 247Sports link posted above by SportsDawg, LA Tech's class recruiting ranks 10th in CUSA. TENTH, in the worst performing football conference in America? And LA Tech's recruiting class is ranked #122 out of 130 schools-- in the country.
That puts LA Tech in the bottom 7% in the country.
Let's be clear: If you are in the bottom 7% of anything, you are classified as a failure. Almost any of you could go out and recruit better than this. Where are the players like Tyler Grubbs, Amik Robertson, L'Jarius Sneed, Kenneth Dixon, Vernon Butler, Willie Baker, Trent Taylor, Jaylon Ferguson, Boston Scott, Xavier Woods, Carlos Henderson, etc....in this recruiting class? What are our coaches doing? We're already posting 5-5 records and losing Bowl games 38-0 to people named GA Southern. Isn't it time for our coaches to take it up a few notches, and not just coast to retirement?
You know what else is funny, we signed 9 incoming freshman. Alabama signed 7 5-star freshman! There are only 33 signed 5-star guys so far. Saban got 7 of them. They almost reruited as many 5-stars as we have total recruits. Skip must be working on his handicap, golf that is. He has mastered his handicap in football.
Skip said in December he wanted to sign a 10 or less player class. This is probably because of a huge transfer portal and a lot of guys not losing any eligibility this year. We didn’t have a ton of scholarships open due to seniors leaving.
We signed two linebackers, both with service academy offers and one P5.. that seems solid.
We signed two big (6’4, 6’5) local athletic d linemen that will play offensive tackle.
The tackle from ULM was highly sought after by Florida State.
The high school tackle, Kenneth Bannister, had 10+ P5 offers. Also comes from a great program at Edna Karr.
The running back played private school ball and put up unreal numbers. Hard to judge off tape but he broke a big play almost every time he got the ball.
Our WR had offers from Houston, Miami, Fresno, Texas Tech, and Tulane.
Our safety is 6’1 and had 6 ints as a senior. He held an Army and a Maryland offer.
The Arkansas transfer has good size and had 29 tackles with just one start (5 tackles)
Also gotta add Caleb Holstein in this list. Hopefully he is our future at QB.
I expect more transfers to land here and we will begin the season with all scholarships filled.
