It’s just a matter of when now. 25 here in WM with rain.

Sleet in Ruston. Heard the interstate is shut down between Bossier and Minden.
Steady snow all day (2/17) in LR.
Looks like just one busted pipe! It is in a vacant house I have. Didn't know at one time there was a washer/dryer hookup out in the shed, that piped busted. Other than that, and some downed limbs...mostly pine trees...came through this latest round of crazy weather unscathed.
Hope everyone faired okay.
How is is possible that some people in Texas have utility bills in the thousands? Did I hear that right on the news?
https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/na...24i-story.htmlThe surge in pricing is hitting people who have chosen to pay wholesale prices for their power, which is typically cheaper than paying fixed rates during good weather, but can spike when there’s high demand for electricity.
Part of our ridiculous system in Texas where you have to shop around for an energy contract. I mentioned this several days ago in the President Biden thread when I saw wholesale electricity prices hit the $9000 per MW-hour price. Even if you aren’t paying wholesale prices, but you have allowed your fixed price contract expire and accept the month-to-month auto renewal, you might be surprised by what they charge for this billing cycle. The whole thing is a needless and pointless hassle for consumers all in the Republican spirit of deregulation.
