You ever seen a husband and wife get divorced, and one parent spends money like a drunken sailor and lets the kids do whatever they want, no matter if it’s good for them or not? The kids usually end up hating the other parent that tries to do the right thing, makes the kids mind, and doesn’t give in to their every demand. So to try and win them back, they have to compete with the other parent to even have a chance to have some sort of connection with their kids. That’s what politics are like these days.
