Austin Kendall, a pro style graduate transfer from West Virginia, who is Immediately eligible. Started his career at Oklahoma before transferring to West Virginia. Played in two games as a true freshman, then redshirted his sophomore year before playing in six games as a redshirt sophomore. He played his redshirt junior year at West Virginia where he started nine games in 2019. He completed 187 of 304 passes for 1989 yards and 12 touchdowns. Lost starting job in 2020 but lead West Virginia to Liberty Bowl victory over Army throwing for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns in relief of injured starter. Only one year of eligibility left. could step in as experience starter. Could easily be a starter in Conference USA.
Grant Tisdale, a dual threat quarterback from Ole Miss, would have four years left.
Joe Milton, a pro style quarterback from Michigan. Played in four games as a true freshman an in his sophomore season. Played in 8 games and started 5 as a junior last year. Completed 80 passes on 141 attempts for 1077 yards and 4 touchdowns with 4 interceptions. He has three years of eligibility left. Would need waiver to play this season. Could also easily be a starter in Conference USA.
N'Kosi Perry a dual threat transfer from Miami, who has two years of eligibility remaining. He is graduating from Miami this semester, so he will be good to go this year. Redshirt in 2017 as a true freshman. Played in 11 games, starting 6 as a redshirt freshman in 2018. Played in 8 games, starting 3 as a redshirt sophomore in 2019. Played in 5 games as a junior redshirt in 2020 all as a backup. He threw for 51 yards on 5-of-13 passing in the Independence Bowl against us. Here are his career stats. Could also easily be a starter in Conference USA.
Year Comp Att. Yards TD’s Int’s
2018 97 191 1091 13 6
2019 85 159 1045 8 3
2020 26 47 348 3 1
Chris Robison from FAU. I only list him as he is a four-star quarterback looking for a new school. He has some talent, but we all know his baggage, so I will not go into his credentials.
I could see Perry or Kendall coming in and playing this season. I think either would be an upgrade on what we have right now. Both would give the gray shirt the opportunity to get ready for division 1 football. Tisdale could also be a QB for the future. We could make a run for these players after spring holding the carrot of a starting job. What are your thoughts?
