They just tripled him and got another turnover from him, which led to a score.
Stop me if you've heard this before: after "winning" a division "championship" and locking up a high seed, Konkol goes home on the first night.

This is going to be a long night guys. FAU is NOT your typical 4-seed.
I’ll take a 1 point halftime lead with how it was going a few minutes ago.
Tech did have some strong shooting at the end of the half to pull us back.
Playing like a true freshman tonight.
This game isn’t close if we cut out the unforced errors.
Really wanted a game where Tech would lead big to enjoy watching. Instead its like all the other games where it could go either way and a nail biter til the end. Looking for a better second half. Go Dawgs!
FAU is shooting 64% (7 of 11) from the 3-pt line.
Tech is shooting 54% (7 of 13) from the 3-pt line.
Konkol has got to figure out how to shut down FAU's 3-pt shooting. Specifically Forest, who is 5 for 5 (100%) from the 3-pt line. Forest is also 6 for 6 on FG's. That's insane.
Now we will see if Konkol is truly a "coach of the year" if he solves the Lofton problem. It's not Lofton's fault, so it falls to the coaches to change things, such as if FAU wants to double him then Lofton needs to be a decoy and pull two defenders away from the paint and Tech play a 4 on 3 game. We shall see.
As for FAU's red hot shooting, well, just don't foul 3-point shooters. They'll cool off...maybe.
