We used peach baskets for the goals.
Oh yeah, well we used a sheep’s bladder as a ball. It’s just crazy to me that I was in high school 21 years ago and the things they do that is called offense now was just burning clock back then.
We didn’t have high school.
Mike White's Florida Gators finished 5th in the SEC this year, with a record of 15-10 overall, 9-7 in the SEC. In my mind those are "very mediocre" numbers for a guy being paid big bucks. Is that all Florida fans expect from their head basketball coach these days? Since White just closed out his 6th season with the Gators, shouldn't he be on the hot seat at a school who owns two national championships in the last 15 years?
Here's a quote from Wikapedia:
I'm just saying, if White is gonna coach at a place like Florida, shouldn't he be expected to produce better results than this in year 6?Billy Donovan, was hired in 1996. In 19 years as Florida's coach, Donovan led the program to seven of its eight SEC regular season championships, all four SEC tournament championships, 14 of 22 NCAA Tournament appearances, four out of five Final Four appearances, and back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007. Florida's head coach since 2015 has been Mike White, who has led the Gators to three NCAA Tournament bids in his first four seasons at the school.[3]
Glad lsooo and Fla lost.
Nice run...but now they get The Borg where "resistance is futile."
On that note, I really like to watch the Zags run their half-court offense and engage in a true team defense. That is rare these days, and which is why an otherwise "unathletic" group of guys are on the cusp of an undefeated championship season.
Plus two players declared for the NBA draft, one hiring an agent. Three more players entered the transfer portal. He has to be on the hot seat, expectations are very high at Florida after the success Donovan enjoyed. He might be safe this year, since he has not been fired yet. I am sure he made plenty over the last six years, but the grass is not always greener.
Isn’t one of the Gonzaga starters a Florida transfer?
Former LA Tech Guard Anthony Duruji is still at Florida.
- He averaged 12.2 pts, 6.2 rebounds and 30 min of playing time playing for LA Tech in the 2018-19 season.
- This season at Florida, Duruji has started half as many games (17 vs 33), and averaged half as many points (6.1 vs 12.2) as he did in his last year at Tech
- Duruji also averaged 29% less rebounds (4.4 vs 6.2) and played 26.4% fewer minutes per game (22 min vs 29.9 min.
I hope he's having fun at Florida, because he could have been an undisputed star player here a LA Tech. But at Florida, Duruji is just another part-time starter.
Funny to me how the so-called "P5" conferences were discussing forming their own separate entity for athletics while half of this year's Final 4 are teams from non P5 conferences
Have you considered those Dogs?
