WAY too low for Pam Kelly. She may be one of the top 3 players ever.... Good to make the list, but it looks like they tried a little too hard to spread it around. I do agree with some of those UConn and Tenn. players being up at the top.

This is a list of the best players to wear each number. They said Pam is the best to ever wear number 41.

But, wow! we have FIVE on that list. Spoon is the best player to ever don a Techster uniform, pound for pound, IMO. But all of these are so good, it's splitting hairs. And, how about that for a starting five:

    Spoon G
    Vickie Johnson G
    Venus Lacy C
    Pam Kelly F
    Janet Lawrence F

If we need a center, I think Lacy is best suited for that role, with the more agile Kelly and Lawrence as forwards. Regardless, what a front line!

Here's a story written by Sean Isabella of the News Star back in 2017 regarding the 1982 Lady Techsters, the first ever winner of the Women's NCAA National Championship. Many recognize the 1982 team as the best Women's basketball team of all time, because of their talent at every single position and their depth. As former Tennessee coach Pat Summit put it, "Tech should be ranked #1 and #2 (in the national polls), and everybody else start from there", because of Tech's extraordinary depth at every position.

Nice story. These ladies are now at middle age and beyond but they will remain "young ladies" in my mind.

Thanks! I didn't catch that it was the best to ever wear the jersey. Great story and we certainly have had some of the best!
