USS Kearsarge, one of our 12 escort carriers, and two destroyers, sailed into Stockholm, Sweden, negotiating a rather tight channel, the shores of which lined by Swedes welcoming it. The crowds started waving and cheering so the Kearsarge blasted her horn, and the captain offered a greeting over the PA system, which made the onlookers cheer louder. This is how the US is viewed by most of the world, the GOOD PEOPLE who love their freedom and cherish their liberty.

Also, just watched a video about Finland and how tough, nearly impossible, it is to invade it. The Fins are tough and will crush anyone foolish enough to attempt an invasion. Hello Putin!

Loving the man-child saga, aka Brittney Griner stuck in Russia . Griner dissed our country, wanted the flag and national anthem banned from games. How do you like us now?

With Lysychansk now in LPR/Russian hands, I imagine they'll focus on Donetsk next, though there is more activity around Kherson now. I kind of get the sense that the wind has gone out of the Western media's sails a bit. Not nearly as much noise as there was a few weeks ago.

I do find it hilarious that Griner is stuck over there. Isn't having her on your country's soil sanction enough

She hates America (who subsidizes her career and lifestyle), so isn't this really more of a reward than a punishment, to not have to go back to fascist America?

    Re: Russia

The Putinites are getting their asses kicked in Ukraine. Recently 20,000 Russkies were surrounded and taken prisoner. Putin and his clueless military leadership actually referred to those 20K men as "stupid soldiers."

Ukraine has taken the offensive now. In the two "breakaway" provinces a stalemate has developed, a WWI trench warfare situation where neither side dare to attempt an attack. But, the Ukrans are attacking the extended and vulnerable Russkie supply lines which will have a long-term effect on Putin's units.

So, with the east bogged down the fighting has switched to the south where the Russkies are dug in trying to hold onto seized territory. The Ukrans have started attacking in Crimea, a territory invaded by Putin in 2014 when obummer "fiddled while Rome burned down." Huge explosions have been seen at Russkie bases in Crimea. The Ukrans claiming strikes on ammo dumps and supply depots located there. International watchdog organizations...freedom-loving entities...have confirmed the attacks, despite claims by Putin to the contrary.

If it appears the world media has gotten bored and are ignoring Ukraine now...you are correct. Now that Putin has shot his wad and is on the brink of total defeat the commies in the media are trying to sweep this under the rug.

Ukraine assassinates Alexander Dugin's daughter, Darya, with an ISIS-style attack. The vehicle bomb was planted by an Azov member (possibly, some debate about if she was "normal" AFU or Azov) posing as a refugee fleeing across the Russian border. The plan was actually pretty clever.

Unclear if Darya was the intended target or whether it was intended for Dugin himself. It's also unknown what exactly they thought they stand to gain from the attack.

Domestic attack by disgruntled Russians, tired of the war and tired of Putin and his allies.

    Re: Russia

Meanwhile Ukranian-Putinites, the "separatists" in the eastern provinces, have declined to participate in an offensive against their fellow Ukran countrymen. A spokesman for the separatists declared Putin's war immoral...this after months of allying with Putin. Change of heart...

Also, there are confirmed reports of Russian troops assassinating their commanding officers and refusing to obey orders. This is on top of the numerous reports for months about suspicious "friendly fire" incidents, one of which claimed the life of a Russian general. Western sources have suspected Russian soldiers were killing their officers and then trying to cover it up as an accidental friendly-fire incident.

    Re: Russia

A retired Ukrainian shot down a Russian SU-34 jet with his antique hunting rifle. He was given a medal for his defense of the homeland. Poor ole Putin, even old men are kicking his ass.

Despite an over-whelming advantage in assets the Russian Black Sea fleet has been fought to a stalemate by the out-manned Ukrainians, thanks mostly to the Neptune and Harpoon anti-ship missiles in the hands of the defenders. The US has supplied the Harpoon missiles to Ukraine. Putin fired the admiral in command of the fleet, but the new commander has not tried his luck yet. To undertake the landing at Odessa, as Putin has demanded, requires Russian ships to enter the shallow waters in the bay by staying in the channels, making them easy targets for the anti-ship missiles. The Ukrainians have placed missile batteries on the coast, all targeting the ship channels. The Russkies may be dumb, but they ain't stupid and suicidal...
