But, yeah, we need to stop supporting Ukraine because of their alleged corrupt government, and just allow Putin to win the war because, well, he's obviously not corrupt

Stupid Russkies strike again! This time they attacked and sunk their own supply ship mistaking it for a Ukran vessel. Most of the crew survived and was rescued. The ship sunk.

And I love this one! Awesome video of goofy Russian soldiers blowing themselves up with their own grenades. A Ukran drone caught the action on video. Russians attacking a Ukran town and they approached a building, seemingly holding Ukran troops. They tried to toss grenades, two of them, through a window, only it wasn't breakable glass, but rather plexiglass and the grenades bounced off and landed among the Russians...boom! and boom! dead and wounded Russkies!

Seems to me the Ukrans just need to get out of the way and allow the Russkies to defeat themselves!

Like I said, more comedy! Not one but two Russian APCs simply drove into a lake and sunk the vehicles. All the morons got out, but the two armored vehicles are a lost cause. Funniest thing was one of the Russians, probably a driver, sitting on the bank rubbing his chin in bewilderment. I'm guessing they had a bad map or perhaps GPS that did not show a frickin' lake over the hill.

What they are calling a terrorist attack, a shopping mall in Moscow was hit by gunmen killing 40, wounding 100+ at latest report. Fires burning in the mall and adjacent buildings as bombs were set off too. Putin has totally lost control of his country. Too bad.

US intelligence warned Russian officials two weeks ago about an "Islamic extremist terrorist" attack but were brushed off. The US Embassy in Moscow warned its staff and other Americans to stay away from large gatherings, citing concert halls in particular. Well, they nailed it. The attack yesterday was on the Crocus Concert Hall, housed in a large complex which includes a shopping mall. ISIS is taking credit for the attack, but Putin is trying to blame Ukraine saying Ukran commandoes carried out the attack.

Latest report says 60+ dead and over 100 wounded in the attack, with the death toll expected to rise.

Ukrainians tell Biden administration to stick it! You think the Ukrans give a damn about Biden's pathetic re-election bid? And to that end, 8 more Putin oil facilities were struck overnight.

BTW, death toll in the ISIS terrorist attack is up to 115, with more expected.

    Re: Russia

Putin propagandists blame the US, NATO, and of course Ukraine for the attack on the concert hall (death toll up to 131) and claim the west calling it an ISIS attack is a ruse designed to cover our involvement. Either way, who cares?

Ukran cruise missiles rained on Russian navy assets in Crimea, with two more Russian landing ships, the Yamal and Azov, struck and damaged. The extent of the damage is not yet known. Russian Navy HQ was also targeted and one building in the complex has been completely destroyed. No reports of casualties yet, but there were some for sure.

Meanwhile the evil Putinists struck Ukran civilian targets, which include a school and an apartment complex. This is the reason the world is not outraged or saddened by the attack on Russian civilians at the concert hall. In fact, some western sources say, it's about time and more attacks on Russian civilians is needed. Maybe then they'll get tired of Putin's nonsense.

    Re: Russia

The FRL's success in Belgorod has shifted the focus of the war, away from the Russians trying to advance to the Russians hunkering down to try to regain/protect its own territory. Meanwhile, with the movement of some of Russia's better units to the Belgorod region, the Ukrans have taken advantage of this and garnered some recent successes. The most prominent of these was the elite 3rd Assault Brigade (the Azov Brigade) retaking Orlivka, a small town west of Avdiivka. In a 6-hour battle the 3rd Brigade overwhelmed Russian units holding the town. It is unclear which Russian units were involved, but it is safe to assume they weren't any elite units. Despite every advantage, being on the defensive, having aerial and artillery support, the Russian defense collapsed fairly quickly. More great bodycam video released by members of the 3rd Brigade. House to house fighting culminated the battle as the remnants of the Russian defenders were cleared out. Then the Russians began raining mortar and artillery shells into the town, and the scramble by the Ukrans seeking cover shows how dangerous war is. Luckily, only a couple of Ukran soldiers were wounded by the artillery shelling. The Ukrans have no plans to make any real effort to keep Orlivka, but rather plan to inflict more damage on the Russians when they return to try to retake the town.

In the bigger picture, western sources and Ukranian intelligence agree that the Russians are planning a major offensive in the north, the Kkarkiv region, specifically centered on the city of Kupiansk, which is just across the border from Belgorod. Putin wants a buffer zone to try to protect Belgorod against incursions. The FRL and other anti-Putin organizations have been HQed and operating from Kupiansk. Of course, the Putinites have to first retake Belgorod before they can concern themselves with attacking across the border. The Russians have been trying for two years to capture this region, without any success. Now the Ukrans have had time to dig in and have built some extensive defensive works. So, any attack by the Russians will have to be massive.

    Re: Russia

A Russian power plant was damaged in another Ukran drone attack.

The Russian amphibious attack ship, the Ivan Khurs, has been attacked and severely damaged in a drone attack. Meanwhile, Russian navy sources say both the Azov and Yamal, damaged in recent attacks, will both be repaired and fully operational within a week. Both of those ships were tied to a floating dock and video footage shows the Ukran drones struck the dock, as much as the ships, and that helped absorb some of the blast. That's okay, the Ukrans will just hit them again.

Russian sources admit their frontier units have been stripped bare as soldiers and equipment have been moved to Ukraine and western Russia due to the war. They claim not to be concerned by any threats from the former Soviet states, Mongolia, and China that share a border with Russia in those frontier sectors. Putin is scraping the bottom of the barrel looking for soldiers, as another report says two Russian prisons have temporarily closed as all the former inmates are now soldiers in Putin's army...or already dead from being one of his soldiers.

No navy has a good radar system to detect droan boats until it’s right next to the boat if there are any waves. Now airborne radars I don’t know about.

    Re: Russia

Goofy Russians shot down one of their planes, a SU-27, which was on routine patrol along the Crimea coast and was mistaken as a Ukranian plane. Why? Ukraine has never sent a plane into that airspace, and if they did, would it be just cruising along at a moderate speed in clear sight of Russian radar and coast watchers? The pilot bailed out and was rescued from the Black Sea. It was hit by an anti-aircraft missile.

Russians have been using illegal chemical weapons in Ukraine, proof was provided today. The Putinites are criminal thugs.

Ukraine has produced some evidence that supports the claim that it was Russia that attacked the Crocus Concert Hall, in an effort to discredit Ukraine and to rally its populace to support Putin's war. The Russian Secret Service, known as FAB, is being blamed for conducting this operation. I don't doubt it for a bit. It's the kind of thing the POS Putin would order.

    Re: Russia

Ukraine is "not winning" this war, but it is clear neither is Russia.

About 6 months ago Ukranian troops entered the village of Verboze, which is about 5 miles southeast of the town of Robotyne, along what is called the "Eastern front." Yesterday, Russian units advanced closer to Robotyne, now within a 1/2 mile of the town, advancing from Verboze. Ukraine is losing ground steadily, but the Russkies are paying a heavy price for every inch of it.

Also along the Eastern front, west of Avdiivka, Russian units continue to make small gains. They are advancing into a pocket of territory, with 5 villages, small towns, surrounded by a series of rivers and lakes, which will serve as a natural barrier to anymore advance to the west. Included in this area is the town of Orlivka, which the Ukran 3rd Brigade recaptured and is still holding against repeated Russian counter-attacks. The fighting has been brutal and the losses enormous. This past week alone the Russians lost 247 combat vehicles, including tanks and APCs, in its effort to take Orlivka back. The Ukrans have lost 24 armored vehicles, two tanks, two Bradleys, and the rest other vehicles. Russian casualties are confirmed at 1,300+ killed/wounded in a week's time. Ukraine has not reported casualties but a British military intelligence source places their losses at 40 KIA and about 120 wounded. No report on how many of the 3rd Brigade are included in those numbers.

The numbers are staggering! The world's media is not reporting just how costly this war is and has been. How can Russia sustain such losses? At some point they have to reach a point where they got nothing left. Their military industrial complex cannot keep pace with the losses, especially in combat vehicles. As for the manpower, yeah, Russia has a population of 144 million (or, they did) vs. Ukraine's 37 million, and so Putin can afford to exchange bodies for ground, and he has. If you are wondering why young Russian men continue to willingly join the Russian army and be sent into the meat grinder in Ukraine, well, most are not so willing, and they are all lied to. Putin propagandists have the general Russian population believing they are winning the war and are fighting a just war to rid the world of Nazism. Hard to believe the Russian people can be so duped, but Putin's regime has total and brutal control of all media sources.

One thing is certain, Russia (except for their nukes) is no longer a world military power. Putin has calmed his rhetoric about invading other eastern European countries because he knows the truth about his depleted military, a mere shadow of its former self. His idiot right-hand man, Medvedev, continues his lunatic rantings saying absolutely stupid things. But Russia's depleted military cannot cash the checks Medvedev is writing.

    Re: Russia

Orlivka has been vacated by the Ukrans. The 3rd Brigade had been pulled out two days ago to be redeployed elsewhere. After inflicting enormous losses on the Russians and watching as they have begun building up their forces for yet another attack, the Ukrans have decided that "discretion is the better part of valor," and withdrew from the town. It is generally agreed, even by the staunchest Ukran supporters, that it is inevitable that the Russians will take the land within the rivers and lakes west of Avdiivka, especially since the Ukrans have established defenses on the other side of the natural barriers.

    WAR OF THE DRONES

Russia has been trying to catch up to the Ukrans in the development of drones. Recently the Russians deployed tracked drones, small battery-powered drones armed with grenade launchers, but the Ukrans countered with their arsenal of FPV drones, the small aerial drones, and have largely destroyed all of the Russian ground drones before they could even get close enough to use their grenade launchers. But, the Russkies are trying.

In the same vein, the British have begun testing their own drones, one said to be capable of carrying an array of weapons and said to be fast with a long operational range. The key to such drones is operational control, a skill the Ukrans have perfected and who now truly lead the world in this endeavor. The British have been working closely with the Ukrans, sharing technology and experience. It is both the present and future of warfare.

    Re: Russia

They use EMP type signals now to try to disrupt drones. Maybe not so portable but mounted on vehicles and/or on towers designed to protect vital targets. Obviously, since drones are still effective these EMP devices need some tweaking. But, yes, as is the nature of weapons it's a constant struggle to develop the latest weapons and then counter-measures, and that's as old as war itself.

Speaking of drones, a Ukran YouTuber has noted that since the Biden administration "asked" Ukraine to stop attacking Putin's oil resources, it's now been a week since the latest such attack. Is the Biden admin. threatening Ukraine such as cutting off support if they didn't? The Bidenites made it clear they were concerned that oil prices would skyrocket and thus the price at the pump and that would harm Biden's reelection bid. Wow! you can't make this stuff up.
