Seeing LSU pick up their new hire just made me wonder how much longer we have with the WBB coach we currently have with her hubby? Is there any chance at all we can get a new coach before too much longer? One would think that what faithful that remain (few in number for sure) have to be privately yelling for their removal. Asking for a friend.

No. In 2017, Supt. Reeves of the Louisiana State police filed a grievance in order to receive an exception so that his son Kaleb, who had graduated from academy could serve. The exception in state law grandfathers an employee in if they worked in position at least a year before their relative ascended to the leadership position.
In 2019, the House Committee on House and Governmental Affairs endorsed House Bill 308 to let a cadet or graduate of the State Police academy become a trooper even if an immediate family is out in charge of the agency that oversees the State Police. The cadet or graduate must have joined the academy at least 4 months before the relative was named by superintendent. This exception was supported by Gov. Edwards.
This is the situation that brought the Nepotism law back into focus. It is the hope that the exception could be agreed upon without the need to create new law. The Nepotism law has not technically been changed. However, this exception has been applied to the best of my knowledge. I would defer to any attorney who might be part of the board for clarity and greater accuracy.
