I follow Dr. Guice on Twitter and I have noticed lately that he tweets general stuff and not much else. He was very active early on in his tenure regarding programs, etc. moving Tech forward, but nothing earth shattering lately. Has he become a little complacent in innovation and leadership? I may be missing something, but is he still on top of his game?

Guice is an empty suit. A do-nothing president.
Tech has now had over 30 consecutive years of incompetent leadership. That’s why it’s a mediocre university.
We hire from within the Tech family and, with a few exceptions, we fall short of mediocre expectations for those we hire. We hire from outside and those employees, again with few exceptions, take on the personality of the passive, easily satisfied home grown employees or they already possess those traits. How encouraging.

I know y'all know this already, but...even more-so than "running a university", the President is a political position, appointed by politicians, to behave politically correct. We have about 10 too many other mouths to feed in higher ed in Louisiana, so "...you WILL do what we want you to do, or we give your supper to Nicholls State. Or SLU. Or Lafayette."
In Louisiana, it doesn't take someone in that role very long to become completely neutered.
Current ULS president, and former NSU and BPCC president, Jim Henderson, is a finalist for the LSU chancellor's position.
Yea. The only way to break the cycle would also put a lot of camp followers out of work.

I have no idea what our current president’s political capability is.
I can very strongly opine 2 things though. FJ Taylor was a master in the craft. Dan Reneau was not, at all.
LSU just hired a radical leftist as their new president. The is great news for Louisiana Tech. Guice better step up and be ready to take advantage of this opportunity.
LSU shot itself in the foot with that hire. Gonna be some friction with the foundation(s), donors, supporters. Perfect that pigtails will be there too. Hah!
Everyone has their opinion of the current leadership. As expected.With the disasters dealt to the Tech campus I'll give the Guice gang a thumbs up for the recovery results. The additional parking lots have helped. I'd still like to see a multi-level parking garage/athletics administration building between the TAC and the Joe.

They should build that parking garage, along with moving the tennis courts across the street to build an indoor football training facility where the courts are located. That is the one piece of the puzzle that we are missing. Do you think we can ask a tornado to hit the tennis courts only????
