Tech will be in Miami this weekend to take on FIU. Tech is 1st in shutouts, 12th in batting average, 15th in slugging %, 25th in fewest BB allowed per 9 IP, and 48th in ERAFIU has hit the 6th most opposing hitters and is 21st in sac bunts, 214th in scoring, and 241st in ERA.
Lightning in the area. Game time pushed back to 6:15 CT. Radio broadcast should start at 6:00.
Rain surrounds the FIU campus, but none on top of the baseball stadium at the moment. But if the rain is moving onshore, it will either be a long night or no night.
Broadcast is starting now as of 6:00.
WKU and FIU still tied in the East after today's doubleheader split.
Rain shower expanding in from the west, and it looks like more light showers are forming. But at least what is offshore isn't moving onshore.
Tech down in order in a 19-pitch 1st inning.

Lightning delay. Light shower has turned into a storm northwest of the stadium. Another shower forming north of that storm.

McConnell moves to third on an error.
Corona singles to make it 2-0 Tech.
Ray takes strike 3 to end the inning.
No warning of we were coming back. I forgot I still had the radio broadcast on my phone and Dave scared the heck out of me.
Knew we were getting close, so I was downstairs and just got back in time.
Double off Fincher and a single makes it 2-1 Tech. Inning ends with a McConnell catch at the fence.
Rally going in the 3rd...need to cash in.
Young reaches on a 2-base error, is safe at second as Wells reaches on a fielder's choice, and Bates walks to load the bases with nobody out.
Garcia lines out to left for a sac fly to make it 3-1 Tech. Runners at first and second 1 out.
Netterville infield fly popout.
Matulia forces Bates at second.
Could have done much more with that inning.
Fincher hits a batter but ends it with a pickoff with the out recorded at second base. 3-1 Tech after 3.

I’m past being disgusted with Ray’s pathetic strikeouts. Chalk up Tech with yet another of their stupid base running mistakes. What is it about this team that they can’t settle for stand up doubles. Should’ve been a 2 run homer instead of a solo.
Corona homers to left to make it 4-1 Tech in the 4th.
Could have been 5-1 but McConnell doubled and stumbled on his way to third and couldn't get back to second.
Physical errors like stumbling I can live with. Had a good chance to make it to third without the stumble. Not close to the same category as rounding second with head down and blowing through a stop sign.
And Ray singles to right this time. The FIU starter has to be near the end of his rope, and it's pitching change time.
Nothing else for Tech in the 4th.
Rain is as heavy as it has been for the entire game now. Must not be any lightning with this heavy shower, but radar looks as bad with it as it did earlier with the delay. Hope Dave's tent doesn't spring a leak.
Rain delay with a 1-2 count and nobody out. Heaviest of the rain is almost right over the stadium now.
