The for sure list...
Arizona Oregon Arkansas South Carolina Florida Stanford TCU Tennessee Mississippi State Texas Notre Dame Texas Tech Ole Miss Vanderbilt
Who will the other 2 be?
Ole Miss lost one of its weekend starting pitchers for the season this week and closes with Vanderbilt at home this weekend and at Georgia next week. The Rebels likely have some work to do to get a #1 seed.
And South Carolina definitely has big time work to do being at 12-12 in the SEC. At Kentucky this week and home vs Tennessee next week. The Gamecocks really need a minimum of 3 wins from those six plus at least a couple of wins in Hoover to stay in hosting contention.
Ultimately I think the SEC gets 5 host sites for sure and maybe 6, but not all 7.
The C-USA Tournament winner should be a lock to host if that is Tech, USM, or Charlotte. And a second C-USA host could happen if that team makes the championship game. The third team is probably off the list.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
INDIANAPOLIS – Louisiana Tech's baseball program has been named as one of the 20 possible programs to host a postseason NCAA Regional. LA Tech, along with three other C-USA programs, was announced among the 20 predetermined preliminary-round sites for this year's Division I Baseball Championship.

Gonzaga is a half-game ahead of San Diego in the WCC, and there is no tournament. The Zags close at Portland and home vs San Francisco, and those are the #4 and #3 teams in the WCC standings.
Can't see Gonzaga getting a host site unless it wins the conference. San Diego almost certainly has to win the conference to even get in with a 76 RPI.
That’s exciting news! You have to think CUSA gets 2 hosting sites, but not 3. Assuming we take at least 3 of 4 this weekend and sweep ODU, we still have to do well in the tournament. That’s a tall order, but still exciting to think about.
Isn’t it crazy that the day word comes out about Tech’s opportunity to maybe host in the NCAAs is the day Tech plays like they absolutely don’t want to host. Tech is elite at not capitalizing on their opportunities. Pretty much any other institution team would play up to the opportunity, but not Tech. Instead, we wilt in spotlight of accomplishment.
We should sequester all our teams from day 1 of the season. Don’t let them see anything but school work and scouting reports. No rankings, no articles, no interviews.
Got to think Charlotte proposing a site off campus might hurt their bid.
