I think this kind of thing already happened a lot to FBS schools. I do think players should have more ability to transfer, but hopefully the 25/year scholarship limit helps mitigate some of this once we get past the weirdness of the last year.

interesting, that several football coaches, including Dykes, pointed to the lack of action against Will Wade as a complete lack of a deterrent for tampering.

If Wade gets away with actually paying money, why should any coach worry about anything as frivolous as trying to poach another team’s player?

Yeah. And I'm sure former high school teammates have always said to their buddies "I wish you could come join us here" it's just that now it's a little easier to do. How could you ever stop that? And why would you want to? But then that also means you (as a coach) would always have plausible deniability.
