No Traditional "Media Days" Event for CUSA This Year

I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet. WAKE UP, Tech fans. It's almost football season.

In one of the biggest public media blunders of ALL TIME, CUSA Commissioner Judy Macleod announced today that the CUSA AD's have decided to forgo the traditional media days event that kicks off football season, in favor of meeting by a zoom call instead. Interestingly, the announcement was made by Macleod in Frisco, TX, on the same day that the P5 Big 12 Conference was holding their traditional media Days event down the road in Arlington, TX.

So, while Americans are going back to work again, flying on airplanes again, playing big time sports again and attending sporting events again in large crowds, CUSA takes another step backwards.

You have a woman heading up a college sports conference - problem identified.

It’s up to the schools to do something about it.

    Game set match, checkmate.

CUSA is a fake conference anyway. Stands to reason they have a fake media day.

The ADs voted on this to save money. Remember, we have the smallest media rights deals in FBS.

I don't know - but they usually rent a space (I think it's been at Ford Center) and I'd imagine at least 10 of the 14 schools fly in coaches/players/admin.

Big whoop. You act like that's some kind of big expenditure. LOL! If you can't afford that, you need to be in the FCS, not the FBS.

Rumors are the East coast schools don't like the fact that everything happens in the west. Whether we're talking about the best bowl games, the men's and women's CUSA basketball tournaments, the baseball tournament (which was held at LA Tech this year), the Commissioner's office, it's all happening in West CUSA, and now that includes Media Days.

This is so Bush League. It's really embarrassing. Any CUSA AD who voted for this should lose his job. He's not worthy of the position, and he's certainly not a leader. We're a conference that BADLY NEEDS LEADERSHIP.

My guess is that our CUSA loser president fell on the sword rather than calling it to a true vote.

This is one of the the most truthful statements ever made in this forum. Maybe the most truthful.

Deion compared himself to Nick Saban at the SWAC media day. Too bad we don't have those anymore. Skip could have comparedhimself to Dabo.
