News Star...Sports...do those go together?
This doesn't really bother me in Dallas, TX. But as small as Ruston and Monroe/West Monroe are, you WOULD THINK that somebody in LA Tech's administration in Ruston would know somebody in the newspaper business in Monroe/West Monroe well enough to discuss stuff like this.
I'm telling ya, people in north Louisiana are in a summer time coma right now. It's August already, and most have no idea we play a college football game in only 4 weeks.
With Corey Diaz leaving for North Carolina, we're in a Tech sports newspaper desert until the News-Star can find a new writer. The Shreveport Times used his stories for their Tech coverage also, so nothing there, either.
I'm just waiting to see if they can find somebody to cover football practice starting this week. I have no use for either paper if Tech is not in it.
This is blatant and would have occurred even if that goofy Diaz was still in Monroe. He covered Grambling for both rags too.
The worst part of this is that Tech will likely continue to give TNS signage and advertising spots as an "in kind" donation, yet they have not held TNS or the Times accountable for years.
I can't believe so many of our fans even care what these rags say or don't say. They are both crap with crap reporters and reporting.
Yep, Wiley Hilburn is long gone from Tech journalism/news bureau.
It's all about Twitterverse and digital platforms.
Speaking of digital platforms the main reason Grambling is ALWAYS included is they generate a large, nationwide amount of clicks on the N-S internet pages.
