To paraphrase our AD, the last coaching change he made was because something was broken at UL. This time, nothing is broken. Far from it. So it would be a huge mistake to look outside the program and bring in a completely different person with a completely different philosophy. We want to keep a good thing going, which is why it makes sense to hire a guy who intimately knows the process that allowed us to get here in the first place.
Napier recommended him. Maggard hired him. Time will tell how things pan out, but if those two believe in him, I should too.
Won't take long to travel the "Lincoln Riley Highway" in Oklahoma if this bill passes. If this goes through you will need to be in the correct lane or you will miss it. ROTFLMAO.

Did I hear right that Sloan is going to LSU as their QB coach? If true that should be very interesting for them.
Why would anyone hire a QB coach who wasn’t allowed to coach QB’s the entire time he was at his previous job?
My first thought when I saw this report: If Sloan is successful at LSU it will further expose one weakness of our prior head coach. One of the criticisms of HCSH was that he did not let his assistant coaches do their job. Sure, Sloan will overall have better offensive players at LSU but he will face teams with overall better defenses than he did at Tech.
Joe will be successful at LSU. He was a caged bird under Holtz. If you read his bio you would understand why. Hard work pays off and I wish him the best—he’s a great guy.
