I told you guys to expect this. Back to that "Buyers Remorse" thing I posted about when CUSA added UTEP instead of LA Tech in the first place. The irony is, I would bet big money that Marshall was one of the CUSA 2.0 teams that voted for adding UTEP instead of LA Tech. And now, they just can't stand it anymore.
Well, it looks like Marshall's bluff has been called. It's time for Marshall to "put up or shut up".
What more does Marshall need to hear? Let me put it like this. The days of Marshall flying its volleyball team to El Paso, Texas, are gone.
Thanks Dave. I guess we'll see where everything shakes out. Marshall fans have been malcontents for a long time in our conference. If they think flying from Huntington to El Paso is that much farther than Huntington to San Marcos, I mean...so much farther that they're willing to pay the exit fee (rumored to be in the $4.5-5 million range) and switch to a conference with roughly the same pay out, more power to 'em, i guess.
Yeah...just "leave this here."
OMG! ya mean the malcontents Thurderin' Turd might leave CUSA!? I'm shocked!

Oh yes. Marshall has a very good men's basketball program. I can't imagine that their coach and fans would trade games against WKU, UAB, Charlotte, ODU, MTSU, UNT, UTSA and LA Tech for the essentially unknown Scumbelt teams. They could expect a major RPI drop pretty quickly if they make that move. Of course, maybe they have plans to bring ODU and others with them?
Also, Marshall just won the NCAA NC in men's soccer this past June (?). They also were very competitive with us in baseball this past spring.
As for USM, their men's basketball sucks real bad. So maybe moving to the Scumbelt will make USM more competitive in men's basketball and baseball.
