Honest question……What are 7 wins in CUSA worth in Ruston, LA? How badly are we overpaying?
To the money people and university I guess they are worth roughly $850,000 a year. I think they see it as a value.
I am more curious as to what are 7 wins costing us in Ruston?
Not just the university but the town itself. The restaurants, hotels, businesses. What are they losing with attendance etc?
We won’t get to 7 wins this year. We may not get to 5
I agree that they are better than years past, because in years past they probably couldn’t beat a good high school team. It seems odd to me that a team that has been a cellar dweller for years can in one year make such a stride. Their win had more to do with Techs total ineptness than UTEP being good. Holtz by his own admission has stated that this team is loaded, so how is it that we are playing like absolute garbage? I think you know the answer to that.

I think this team looked lost this past week.
This week being homecoming maybe they can get their acts together and look good again.
However, if the wheels fall off again against a strong UTSA team it means that Skip has lost the team for good and the season will be a LONG one.
The ONLY way and I mean ONLY way we even have a remote possibility of getting a new coach in the next 4 years is if Skip Holtz resigns. Cite mental health or aging parents or desire to be closer to kids or something and just take a leave. Until that happens, Skip will coast on fumes and a used Waffle House menu.
And I agree with other posters on here that Skip has done less with more talent than any other coach I have seen. He's got great players to Tech. Look at our draft numbers in the past few years, but he's just squandered it year after year. According to Skip this is our most talented class ever and the game I witnessed Saturday was one of the worst losses I have ever seen. It was just bad. Pathetically Bad.
Question….
Would Holtz have won a conference championship by now at Tech if he had stayed with the air raid that Sonny had rolling? I think more than anything I want to see us stay with our identity. Seems like air raid works for us. I wish we could have hired a guy we knew would stick to the style.
Week after week, loss after loss, I keep hearing Holtz say, he’s got to do a better job coaching. So, what does that really mean when he still does the same thing every week. Regardless of his supposed improved coaching effort, we’re actually getting worse. Someone tell me how this works and what boss accepts this scale of BS and this degree of repeated failure.
No. Holtz couldn’t win a championship with Manny Diaz as his DC. He couldn’t win a championship with a team full of future NFL players. It’s not about philosophy, it’s just that Holtz is a loser. Spread, West Coast, Wing T or Air Raid, it don’t matter with Holtz. He will find a way to lose.
