Ark AD pumps up the Razorbacks

So, you wanna know where our fine AD is coming from?

Here's the Arkansas AD, his former boss, speaking to the Little Rock Touchdown Club today. Check it out. You might learn something.

Hunter Yurachek is a star. Before the great turnaround he is currently leading at Arkansas he headed a great Houston athletic department, after a few great years at Coastal Carolina. It seems like everywhere he goes great things follow. I dream that someday we have an Athletic Director like him!

Unfortunately, I think Wood was gone from Arkansas by the time Yurachek arrived there. It looks like Wood left Arkansas in 2016 and Yurachek arrived in 2017. The AD at Arkansas while Wood was there is a guy named Jeff Long. Long’s career trajectory was vastly different. Fired from Arkansas only to land at Kansas. Not surprisingly fired from there too. Schools are really taken a chance by immediately hiring a guy after he is fired from the same position at another school. It would be like a school hiring a head coach who was just fired from another school and expecting him to win championships at your school. Probably not going to happen.

And the message that I’m seeing now from the media is it is the fans fault.

That’s right. When things are going poorly and you have a HC that can’t win big games and almost loses games they should blow out, ITS THE FANS FAULT.

Who writes these scripts? You get the talking heads and the radio people to trash the fans for not showing up?

The AD’s job is to build better experiences for the fans, and all I hear is him claiming he’s “still learning”. What Dr. Woods needs to say is we want to make Tech football from the tailgate to the game the best experience in North Louisiana and then actually work to that goal by making real and substantive changes.

The first thing he can do is to take away the restrictions that make it hard to be a fan. The second thing he can do is to hold a press conference and STATE publicly and firmly that WE expect C-USA championships in EVERY sport. That should be the goal. NOT meaningless Bowl Games.

He has a collective visionary experience for renegotiating competitive deliverables while providing eclectic value.

So he thinks outside the box to shift the paradigm and generate impactful change?

Maybe someone should ask Brad to tweet Dr. Wood that exact question.

    I'm just joking people.

Yes, thanks for that correction. Long was/is a dud.

Yurachek is a star. His comments can be mined by any AD for some ideas.

Other than that what'd you think about the presentation?

Wouldn't you love to have a weekly QB Club meeting like that? 600 people. Bringing in speakers like Terry B, and Lundquist?

Their Best Offensive Lineman Award is the Willie Roaf Award. Named after somebody from Pine Bluff, but played college ball at Tech played NFL in NOLA and KC.

For a school our size, we have so much history and cache that we never use. We could have a QB club like that but 99% of the people in our athletic department aren’t willing to put in the work and the 1% that are willing are stopped by the rest for fear of being exposed. I swear to god the easiest money you can make is to live off the American people as a politician or draw a paycheck from our athletic department.

The nice thing is the LR Club is locally organized and gets weekly reports at the luncheon on ALL Arkansas college football programs. A HS player of the week … in the state. And guest speaker…not always Razorbacks or former Razorbacks.
Even the Ark. AD took a dig at the local organizer’s $ponsor$. #Jealous
