Wow. Big Ed better not spend that money then.

I haven't read that anywhere? Where did you read that?

I've never understood clauses like this:

Additionally, the terms of the separation do not allow Orgeron to become employed as a head coach in the SEC for the next 18 months.
I mean, if he's such a bad coach that your fire him, why are you afraid of him coaching elsewhere in the SEC??

There is a clause in the contract that automatically adds a one-year extension for an eight-win season. We are in for some very dark years of Tech football.
Maybe our leadership needs to take a page from Kansas' firing of Les Miles, and find some rule that Holtz broke. It happens.

It was reported in several places -

"Just cause" carries over from the original contract...

Who ever replaces him will also be staring down a program on probation in all likely hood also

It's pretty evident that O doesn't have great legal representation or a good agent from the moment he stepped on LSU's campus until now

That press conference yesterday was a joke on his side "mom was worried if I'd get my money..."

    Really?

All Woodward had to do was step aside and let O speak and make even a more complete buffoon of himself (if that's possible)

Because he's not being fired for being a bad coach. He's being fired for his personal indescretions.

If it were just a "bad coach" thing, he'd be dismissed immediately after a loss. Or at the end of the season.

Hmmm. I'm not so sure about that. He's being fired because he's already lost to UCLA, Auburn and Kentucky this year, and finished 5-5 last year.

I heard about that this morning for the first time. But I still don't see anything wrong with swimming with a woman in a swimming pool. It's not like they were skinny dipping or something. Is an LSU Coach not allowed to have a girlfriend?

You catch the part about his lady friends interfering with practices?

But to your question -- yes and no. Of course a coach can have a girlfriend(s). But there's a certain level of discretion required. It can be an "open secret" but a coach still has make some effort to shield the univeristy from his or her personal shenanigans. (cf. JRP, Spoon, T. Summit.)

You don't hit on a high ranking LSU official's pregnant wife at a gas station and then press the issue after she tells you she's married, pregnant and not interested...

So what is it with the big money donors at Tech? What do they want Tech football to be?? Guess they really don't care as long as they have a place to entertain clients and "pretend" to be interested in football? Why not just entertain clients at Squire Creek and a round of golf?

From what I’ve heard, Squire Creek is such a drain on the Davison bank account that they don’t have as much throw away $ as they once did. If you want to know how to become a multimillionaire start off as a billionaire and build a golf course.
