Not too much of a drain on the Davison empire if Todd can build an equine center to raise race horses. The Davisons are the majority owner in the company that “bought” them. Squire isn’t hurting them.

In other words, golf balls, horses and such are far more entertaining than LaTech. Don’t forget too quick the effort the Davison’s put into Goff and Tech baseball for that whole thing to blow up under their noses.

How does that saying go, “fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” I can easily see them being burned out backing Tech’s failures.

Admittedly without knowing everything about the Davison’s role re: Goff other than handing over a big check, it’s likely still a stretch to say it blew up in their face. Goff was successful at Tech, but Alabama came calling and he decided to go home. That’s when things started blowing up in people’s faces, and it blew up in Goff’s face, not the Davison’s.

This is very true. I've got a friend here in McKinney, TX, David Craig, who lives directly across the street from me and is an extremely successful real estate developer. At least he was until he built a PGA golf course and got in the Golf Course business. LOL!

Craig, started a Golf Course neighborhood here in McKinney about 20 yrs ago --Craig Ranch Country Club-- and struggled for a very long time. He is just one of those people with great vision who was 25 years ahead of his time. His golf course struggled for a long time. But over the last 5-8 years the real estate market has finally turned around, and he's become extremely wealthy. Craig even convinced the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament leadership to host their annual PGA Tournament in McKinney on his course. I was very happy for him 18 months ago when he got a 6-yr contract to host the Byron Nelson at our neighborhood (his) Country Club. He's got it rolling now, but that man suffered for a long time because his golf course was losing money. He has certainly paid his dues.

That's about stupid. His pay day may not be quite as large as he planned. I hope he is saving some of that money. Of course, I could gladly retire with the addition of what he is making this year only.

Re: We keep Skippy but LSU reaches separation agreement with Orgeron

Coach O is nothing but a big kid, an undisciplined, rowdy, immature, out-of-control "teenager." He was that way when he was still an undergrad, football player at NSU. Constantly in trouble breaking team rules, curfews. Then when Coach Sam Goodwin, HC at NSU, went to Dr. Alost, president of NSU, and advised him he planned to hire a former player as an assistant, Alost, without even knowing who Goodwin meant, said, "as long as it's not Ed Orgeron." It was.

I would have thought after sowing his wild seeds all these years and landing his dream job as HC at LSU, Coach O would have cleaned up his act, matured, and did all he could to keep the job. Apparently not. A tiger can't change his stripes.
