Compare that to Louisiana Tech's $0 in Student Fees.

UTSA is $13.9 Million.

North Texas is $13.5 Million.

And FIU tops out at whopping $25.5 Million in Student Athletic Fees.

Yes the schools leaving with "bigger budgets" are playing a shell game with their students and Student Loans. They are propping up their athletic budgets at the cost of bigger student loans passed on to their students. Even worse that they are passing along all these "student athletic fees" to anyone who takes an online class with them.

Take away a lot of these "Student Athletic Fees" in the millions and those bigger C-USA budgets are on par with Tech's Budget.

Now. I am not saying Tech should not have a Student Athletic Fee, but I also think we should compare apples and apples vs apples and oranges.

That list just states what Athletic Budget is - Total Revenue. Where it comes from and how it is funded is up to the school. I don't think it's apples and oranges. I just think it's the facts.

Instead of charging a student athletic fee we just transfer about $10 million out of the university general fund into athletic dept annually. That accounts for a huge percentage of our "revenue".

USM has 8 million in institutional support plus their student athletic fees.

So does USL. They have a full transfer AND have Student Athletic Fees.

USL fully funds their athletic stipend with student fees. Around $500k every year.

I almost a million per team. I think its $750,000 per team to be exact. Their old contract paid $500,000 per team. In the media release after their new deal it said they gained a 50% increase payout.

The problem is that the leadership within our schools and the conference office has done a poor job of pointing that out. They've really never even tried.

What I will get into is saying how much respect I have for LaTech athletics and what great fans your school has. It will be a sad day if we no longer are conference mates. I sincerely hope if that happens, it will be short lived and we will be back together in a conference. Thanks for letting me come to this board and post over the recent years. Correct. CUSA's "lack of transparency" on these issues is killing 'em. They've allowed the rumors to fester until they are now a problem.
