Curious what the lowest attended “non-rain” game in the Div 1/FBS era is. Surely last night has to be close to the worst.

Watching the WKU-FAU game. That's actually fun football to watch. Something Skippy-ball isn't.
And it's not just about having athletes, something Tech would appear to have enough of if they are utilized properly.
The defensive scheme gives up way too many chunk plays. And that dates back to last year. The defensive staff and scheme changes made since Diaco left for Purdue just 22 games ago (8-14 since then) have been big failures.
Special teams are not special. And that hasn't changed for several years. Even when Tech can play close on offense and defense, special team blunders are costly far too often.
On offense it's all about scheme. A successful offensive scheme in 2021 is all about making a split-second read and reacting. Tech does that way too little of the time. The delayed handoff run plays fail as often as they succeed because they are easy to scheme against. Those should be change-up plays if used at all, not the base offensive run call.
But Tech's biggest offensive issue the last two years has been upfront. Can't get anything done like last night even when there was some success on the ground when the QB has to start scrambling on pass plays as soon as he catches a snap. Not running nearly enough plays that would slow down a rush, and WR screens don't work way too often. Tech doesn't fool anyone with its scheme, and when the level of athletes is even close, Tech does not have success.
About half of Skippy's offensive playbook needs to be retired. And since that's true, it's time for more than just the playbook to be retired.
Box score shows attendance of 10,400. Actual - a lot less. https://latechsports.com/sports/foot.../boxscore/9291
The longer it goes on, the harder it will be to remedy.
Holtz is probably a nice guy and I wish him no ill will, but he isn't the right guy for our program. We need a guy with fire and ambition.
Still can't believe he was given so many extensions with virtually nobody looking to hire him away.
This^ (in bold). We risk losing fans, money, conference, unbelievably horrific football (almost beyond imagination) for years if not a decade or more. We should make no mistake about how bad it can get if Guice fiddle-farts around. Holtz should be fired this weekend. Time for him to "Skip town."
So glad you didn't waste the drive. An utter embarrassment to anyone who cares about Tech.
Yep, it's a "sunk cost." The money has been spent (committed) and that can't be changed. Sometimes a company might try something, maybe a new product, and it just doesn't work. Maybe they are losing a $million/month. They spent $25 million investing in the new product line. But smart business people know, understand, they ain't getting that $25 million back, it is gone, and it is stupid to keep losing $1 million month after month just because of the initial investment.
But, I doubt Guice is a smart businessman.
