On pregame show yesterday, AD said he believes there will be another round of realignment in the next few years. He said he believe C-USA will go to 10 if they can find the right school, he didn’t mention names, but seems like MO State
MO ST fits, wish they were happy with our other sports, I would like to think they would move at that point.
I agree that a chance to "rebuild" a better, smaller, conference is really good for us. CUSA 3.0 was TOO BIG, and had too many boat anchors in it. We all know it. Now both the AAC and the Sunbelt are cursed with too many members. And they don't even realize it yet, LOL!
Again, we gotta keep the conference small. But wins are wins, and the smaller CUSA 4.0 will help while still leaving room for much better OOC scheduling. The mens basketball is already ""good" in this new CUSA 4.0, and the football will inevitably catch up and surpass the two bigger conferences because they are now stuck with the boat anchor programs.
Only 11 yards. Felt like more

I think there is a growing feeling at the FCS (and lower) levels that this big Constitutional Congress thing coming up is going to really put a lid on changing levels. So all those teams leaving the Southland for the WAC (or considering it, in this case) no longer really have that same reason to make that move (because now the WAC's plans to move up as a group don't look so likely).
Neither of those things is very likely an option.
There aren't FBS teams left that are interested or would be worth having. UMass or UConn football are very far away and worse on the field than many FCS teams. And nobody is leaving the Sunbelt to join this version of CUSA (quite the opposite).
Greg Burke, AD at NSU, is leaving athletics moving into fund-raising for the NSU Foundation. Burke has served as AD for 25 years.
Is all this news about schools leaving, not leaving, the reason Burke has chosen to resign now? It's a mess in college athletics right now, and schools like NSU live on the edge, just about daily, waiting for the next shoe to fall.
I would stay where we are now with Army being the only expansion candidate I'd consider. Adding Army could mean:
Working out deals with with Fox and CBS and getting onto Amazon Prime (first choice) or Paramount+ (second choice) the way the Belt and AAC are on ESPN+. We could get CBS to stop paying ESPN for MAC games.
Forego the cash the way the Belt does - only taking in about $100K a year in cash the way the Belt schools do - if the networks agree to produce and pay for everything TV related, including Coach's shows.
Get the conference championship game onto network TV, either on Fox or CBS.
Keep making Army say no until they say yes.
