    DST?

As far as I know this is still a fairly non-partisan topic (famous last words, I know).

But what's the BB&B take on Daylight Savings?

    Re: DST?

I'll admit, as a student I once showed up to the Temple Baptist parking lot and wondered why it was so empty when I was running my typical 5-10 minutes late for Sunday School. Finally realized what happened, went to get breakfast, and still managed to be late after all.

I'm against this thing, if only because the beating of "springing forward" more than balances the thrill of "falling back" (and when you have kids, they don't know to "fall back" so you end up being awakened at the same time anyway).

We should get rid of it. The time change days are too big a hassle to me. I'd prefer to get used to CST and be done with it. We live in the era of electric lights. I have a hard time understanding why people would care one way or the other when we are all up well past sundown anyway.

I don't hate it but am good to drop it. It's just a minor annoyance, though.

I almost added an option of "it's fine, but go back to previous dates."

"Big candy" got in there to extend Halloween.

I find the alleged "hassle" to be negligible.

But if we're gonna get rid of one, we should ditch Standard time. Daylight time, all the time, I says.

I'm okay with that too. Just pick something and stick with it. I love falling back, but springing forward is awful.

    Re: DST?

Seriously though -- the author's points are well made. It's an excellent peice. But I remain unswayed.

I like twilight that can linger past 9p in the summertime. I like trick-or-treating with my kids as the sun is setting. I get grumpy during the dark months of standard time, and I despise leaving work after dark in the winter.

I recognize these reasons are all as subjective as they are selfish. I dont care. I like Daylight time.
