    Options for smaller CUSA scheduling?

8 is great for football (under the circumstances). 9 is ideal for football. Maybe we add 2 more for 10 (doable for bball I think).

But what are the scheduling preferences for you basketball folks? Is this Southland tournament thing a good idea? Are we cool to just play 14 (or 16) conference games and load up OOC? Would your answer change based on who we end up with?

Hopefully we could add UTA/UALR for Olympic Sports. That would create a nice 18-game schedule after adding the 8th All-Sports school.

People keep saying this, and I get that 16 is a huge number of teams for the 'Belt to have, but I still think it's bit of a big assumption/hope.

Whatever the word on the street is here at UTA, it hasn't made its way over to the Int'l Office.

No need to add UTA and UALR with WKU and MT staying. Adding Missouri State would allow an 18-game schedule with travel partners.

The travel partner pairings would have to be something like UTEP-NMSU, Tech-SHSU, WKU-MT, FIU-LU, and that would leave Missouri State and Jacksonville State stuck together. Or maybe something creative could be done with MSU, JSU, FIU, and Liberty to alternate off among those four.

Otherwise with a 9-team conference there is always a team not playing, so it would still take 9 weeks for everyone to play 16 conference games

    UTA mentioned here.

I haven't heard any rumblings here on campus (but I don't run in those circles and wouldn't necessarily anyway, maybe I'll ask around). UTA does have an interim president at the moment, seems unlikely to be a move until that is settled.

Would leave UALR in an awkward spot. Those two schools don't have tons of history or anything but if they want to be in a conference that also plays football, you'd think you'd bring in two schools at once (because you probably have an even number of football schools) but that's probably not always the case.
