Why any reputable poll is still being taken using registered voters and not likely voters at this point is a mystery. Other than to prop up Fetterman, there is no good reason.

A clear signal of the desperation level of the Fetterman campaign is in the second link.

Question: how do pollsters distinguish “likely” voters from the unlikely ones? Do they ask folks if they are likely to vote? And if so how do they really know who is serious vs someone just saying that?

As part of their polling questions they ask how likely it is that someone will vote. Within 60 days of an election that is a far more accurate measure of how the actual election results will end up than using just registered voters.

In-person, election day voting would eliminate that issue.
