I’m looking to some sign you are kidding. You seriously know nothing if you believe that to be true! That is hilarious! They have had basketball, soccer, volleyball, and I believe baseball etc all this time. I don't know of 1 fan. Nor do I believe anyone has said I'd go to the TECH fame, but there is a Centenary game. Centenary is a tiny college that is a good place to go if you want to get into med. school locally.

Centenary didn't have the Shreveport market (in Basketball) when they were DI. Very few will care.

As y'all might have noticed I have a weird hang up on historical records and we need the chance to tip the scales on our all-time series with Centenary. Currently 9-10-1. The second they make their way to the FCS level, we need to get them on the schedule (twice).

I seriously doubt they make it anywhere near FCS. The dirty little secret about DIII football is that small, struggling colleges use it as a way to boost enrollment. Y’all would know better than me, but last I heard Centenary was struggling financially. This is almost certainly being done as a way to entice 125-150 new students who aren’t ready to stop playing football to pay tuition at Centenary.

My wife's great uncle, Mr. Fred Francis, played for Centenary back in the '30's. When we visited him some years back, he drug out his old stuff, his letterman sweater, his old leather helmet, lots of photos, a yearbook...he was so proud of playing football for Centenary, which I think he said, were called the Old Ironsides, changing to Gentleman later. They beat LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, among others. We chatted for hours about his playing days, college football in general, as his wife and mine visited about other stuff. As we were leaving he thanked me for allowing him to relive those memories.

Uncle Fred passed away about 10 years ago. Hope he is looking down when Centenary again takes the field on the ole gridiron.

Very interesting. All that memorabilia might be worth something to Centenary as they try to restart their football program. (I don't mean sell it, but rather maybe consider donating it the same way Terry Bradshaw donated a lot of his football stuff to LA Tech years ago.)
