Letting a coach go is always a risk, I suppose. But what I saw for next season was double-digit losses. No home games with anywhere close to 10,000 fans. The risk in this case is minimal.
In year 9 we did not have a capable offensive line for the second year in a row. Our gamble at QB did not pay off, no doubt not having a capable offensive line contributed to that problem. Special teams have been questionable for a while.
Sure Skip is a nice guy. Overall probably ran a pretty clean program. Every coach is going to have a player get in trouble at some point or have players flunk out. Only a idiot wouldn't understand that. But treating others with respect (being a nice guy) and running pretty much a clean program is not a reason to keep a coach, those should be the minimum expectations for any coach anywhere. Not doing those things should get you fired with no buyout.
This is an exciting time. The opportunities for the future are limitless. You couldn't say that this morning.
