And, as has been stated several times, you have to have lock down coverage with 4 or maybe 5 so at least 6 can stay in the box and make the QB make a mistake. Unless you have that, just play defense. If it’s good enough to get you the lead over 4 quarters, then it’s good enough to keep it in crunch time.
Trying to be too smart for your own good is where stupid people go wrong. Or don’t try to pull a ‘Holtz’.
Well, I guess Holtz could take credit for leading us to 8 straight bowls now that we ended this season in the toilet bowl.
Confession -- I was playing the new Halo with my kid on Saturday and totally forgot about this football game. Probably the first time in 25 years that I just completely blanked on a Tech kickoff time.
When I finally switched over to it, Tech was up by 10 with 5 minutes left. I turned to my 10yo and said "Just watch, Tech is going to blow this lead." She was like "no way!" And I said "Just wait and see"
We switched over to the basketball games with my kids.
Later, my wife asked if we won. I said "We were up 10 with 5 minutes left." She said, "Oh."
LOL! She knew without looking it up.
Unlike certain smoothbrains, she was neither shocked nor appalled that Holtz has "mutually parted ways" with our universityLOL! She knew without looking it up.
