Bryce Young = Overrated
When the protection broke down, he struggled. He was without his top 2 targets. That being said, Saban getting beat is always good in my book.
All "hypesman" candidates are overrated, by the very nature of competing to be the supposed best. Just remember, for the Hypesman Trophy, players like Walter Payton and Jerry Rice are not, de facto, even eligible.
But, I think Young is pretty dern good. He is NOT an NFL QB even though some goofballs will draft him and later learn, "hey, this guy is no NFL QB." But he is a legit, VERY good college QB.
In wasn't impressed with Young at all. In fact, I thought he looked awful. If he was a player at almost any other school, he's be just another average QB.
- In the 1st game against Georgia --a Bama win-- Young threw 44 times and had no interceptions.
- In the 2nd game against Georgia --a Bama loss-- Young threw 57 times (a +30% increase) and had 2 INT's.
I don't get it. 57 passes? WTH?
